Greatest football player ever and why?

Messi is certainly the best in my lifetime but the most fun I've ever watched have been Ronaldo (the one who can legally go abroad) and Ronaldinho. Messi is obviously an absolute joy but there's something just a bit robotic about him that I can't quite articulate and I think, beyond blind nostalgia, is why a lot prefer Maradona too.

 

But as has been touched upon you almost need this to be in every twenty-years-or-so brackets because of how the sport shifts.
