Boss upbeat following good run

Leicester manager Micky Adams has pronounced himself delighted with the Foxes' unbeaten run of three games in the Championship.

Relegated out of the top flight at the end of last season, City endured a difficult start to their current campaign and managed to pick up just five points during six games in August.

But a 2-0 win at Rotherham followed by a 3-2 home victory over Sheffield United and Saturday's 0-0 draw with visiting Burnley has helped get Adams' side back on track.

And Adams said: "If you'd asked me a week ago if I'd take seven points out of the next three games, of course I would have taken them.

"I'm delighted with that return."

On paper it is a very good return...last time we got promoted we got a hell of a lot of draws...if I was the manager at this club, I would set as a goal/target for my players to go through this month unbeaten.

All we need is to work on our performance (which on Saturday was far less than this team is capable of), and our poor record of substitutions.

Come on Micky...sort it, I believe you can!

ps. Nitpicking but there is no apostrophy in Adams...its his name

Well if you are going to be pedantic, and you’re quite correct then you should have written:-

Nit-picking but there is no apostrophe in Adams...it’s his name

At the beginning of the season Micky would have been told to get us promoted, not go out and play pretty pretty football. If we were winning 90% of the games like last time people wouldn't moan about the style of play.

Micky might be happy, but a lot of the fans aren't. In my view the 7 points out of 9 disguises the fact that we cannot break down teams that just come to sit and defend at the Walkers. Now that we have failed to score in 4 of our 5 home games, all the away teams will know what tactics to use against us, and it will just get worse. We cannot rely on our away games to win 3 points - things need to change at home.

We couldn't ****in score at home last season either. The reason why is because we don't play the correct style of football, when we play away from home we aren't expected to press forward all the time and that's when we score our goals against the run of play. At home, we are expected to get forward and constantly press teams but we haven't got the creativity or style of play to do this. We have no width, we have players playing out of position, we have a horrid long ball system which stems from the worst distributers of the ball (Dabizas and Heath) up to a player who cannot head the ball for shit anymore (Dublin) If these players were replaced with players that could play football this style of play might reap rewards now and again in this division, but it ain't happening. Couple this with the fact that atleast every game 2 or 3 players have absolute shockers, this total football system that Adams has told us about is actually a system where a few players take it in turns to play shit.

There are so many things that are wrong at this club at the minute and they are all on the pitch, we've sorted ourselves out behind the scenes with our finances so why can't we have a competent manager and coaches?!

It's not as simple as this, but it doesn't take alot of thinking to realise that if we didn't just go on reputations and experience and play players who are currently playing better than the rest (Wright, Stearman and Dawson have been class for the reserves) and also play a formation that suites the players we have, so that would be wingbacks. We don't own any out and out wingers, but we own some players that would be alot more effective as wingbacks (Canero, Wilcox, Stewart, Makin, Tiatto) then we could play 3 centre halves and get the hoofs pumping and play three central midfielders, one player to sit back and mop up (Gudjonsson or Dawson), one to pull the strings pinging balls around the park (Nalis) and one to get forward and put a few away (Williams)

It ain't hard it really isn't, Adams has lost all respect in my opinion and it seems that way with the players too. Panic buys again, going for the short term fixes. Pathetic.

Bringing in journeymen at the end of their careers is not good. Where's the incentive to get promotion when you only have a years security?

It's supposed to act as an incentive to prove a point and earn another contract. In reality, most player's couldn't give a toss and are more than happy just to pick up their final pay check.

Just to pick up on Hoof's post, he's spot on with what he's saying. Our main problems for not scoring goals at home is our lack of width and pace. Scowcroft and Wilcox on the wing will not provide many goals - Neither of them can beat players, and neither of them cross the ball that much. 'Wingers' are there to provide service in to the box, erm, where's the service from them two?

We look such a static team, often with no movement and pace, no wonder opposing teams find it so easy to pick up points at our place. Adams is a one trick pony, he has no alternative game plan, it's hit it to the targetman, and feed of him. It wouldn't be so bad if Dublin was actually any good in the air.
