This tournament has gone back to being shite like 2016 in the last week or so. The format has done its thing again. I'd sooner 8 from 24 went through than 16. It's nonsense how much reward there is for a draw.

Bar a few games, the tournament has been pretty disappointing. People moan about England, but the football in general has been mind numbing. Most players look visibly tired.

Nah. The first week or so was great. I think statistically more goals in the opening games than any other.

 

I reckon that was because, with you more often than not needing four points to get through, everyone went all out for the win early on. After that though, those that win only needed one more point which affected the quality of the later games.
