I have done the 7 or 8 hour drives to Chicago, NY etc no problem.  Easy peasy but I do agree Florida is a bit far.  Flying isn't cheap though. 1 ticket would be more expensive then gas there and back likely lol. I got to buy 4 tickets! Then renting a car etc.

Had a friend in high school that did the drive there and back on a long weekend.

 

He ended up becoming a pilot, which made a lot of sense and also gay, which doesn't have anything to do with the story.
