Not only that... he now oversees our severely underqualified marketing department too. Despite the fact we hired a commercial director with marketing experience across the premier league

The Commercial director reports directly to the CEO not Herlihy. If the rest of the marketing department don’t report to him them he is not very good as a commercial director. Note it’s his first job in charge at previous clubs he was a member of the commercial groups. Not sure what he has achieved so far apart from the Cromwell sponsorship.

I never said anything about the CD reporting to Herlihy, I was saying he's significantly more qualified to take charge of our Marketing team than Tony. The reason he hasn't is becuase he 100% would have weeded out the people who have been here 15+ years and are Tony's over promoted mates.

A commercial director overseeing both the sales and marketing teams isn’t unheard of. Particularly one who has 20+ years marketing experience at Villa and Wolves. 
 

I’d say given we need to be better at engagement that leads to commercial impact it would have been a sensible decision! 
 

The reason it didn’t happen is Tony protecting his mates.
