Some **** was assaulting his own son on Saturday and they were all stood around doing nothing and I'd go as far as saying ignoring it.

It took another fan to step in to help sort it. Absolutely disgusting.

I had to actually tell a steward to get involved.

They are very effective at ensuring the bars close in good order however, often while the machines are still on and people are still ordering.

WTF?

Yep.

One steward even had the cheek to say to the lad who interjected 'what's your problem?' when he was rightfully fuming and shouting. Some conflict resolution training that :appl:

Assaulting his own son? How old was the son?!

You'd think this, but we've had opportunities to restructure in the past and done the opposite.

As horrible as it is, there's been the perfect opportunity to clear the decks and start a fresh with some of the 'lifers' who are under qualified and over promoted.

During Covid they protected everyone.... during the first relegation they hired MORE staff.... this time round.... MORE again!

We're bloody dreadful at this sort of thing, just like every other aspect of running the club.

Perhaps with the former FD making the decisions now we will be more brutal. But hopefully it's a chance for a proper reset, as horrible as it is for those involved, there's people in mid level positions at this club who haven't got a ****ing clue what they're doing and need to be moved on.

Might also help the balance sheet too, can't think of many other clubs (even in the premier league) paying the head of fan engagement 80k+

I think its going to be much more of a necessity now. We are going to be losing a serious amount of cash, especially after next year when still in League 1.

I cant honestly think what the head of fan engagement is doing to engage the fans either?  Surely if the team is less full of big ego, pathetic mentality, losers the fans will be more engaged!

This is the bit I was most interested in tbh

No older than 11/12.

Mods feel free to remove all these comments if it's too much drama. I was just frustrated still and wanted to vent about how useless the club is.

In fairness, at a well run club, it's a great role with huge scope. If I was in the role, this forum for example would be a superb source of ideas/engagement opportunities.

I don't blame the lady in charge, she'll be being micromanaged to within an inch of her life no doubt. Any ideas or creativity she had will have been squashed, much like new players when they arrive here (Mukasa...)

Similar story with the new social media admin we hired this season, breath of fresh air in pre season then.... revert to type.

I’m glad the stewards are being cut. The amount of stewards outside sk1 is ridiculous. Searches to get in the stadium. Why is that a thing all of a sudden ? Literally been going in sk1 since 2002 and not until this year have they started searching everyone. When asked why?  the head steward some fat women says it’s for our safety !!! Got told you can only bring sealed water in !! You walk in and are met by another steward standing in front of you. Another two near the stairs and two more when you get up the stairs. Going down to league one hopefully will get rid of these idiots and the over the top security.

Problem with the club regarding these issues is that you’ve had the same idiots in power for the last 20 years and they think they’re something special. The people running the match day aren’t footballing people. The whole club is being run by clowns who don’t even like football or football fans.

I think we might need to keep the stewards so the stadium looks half full 🤣

There is some hilarity to how much the social media team seem to want to wind up the fans. There seems to be complacency throughout, it needs a huge reset, I am not sure at what point that happens, and I fear it may never if the ownership stick around.

I think this is where restructuring would help. You can't just sack someone, but being relegated to League 1 gives the club the perfect opportunity for a clear out.

The fact remains, the marketing team is 4 blokes, all collectively been with us 10 years or more, not a single qualification or previous industry experience between them, and now being managed by Tony after his quiet promotion.

The woman who joined the social team was the first new hire in yonks.

The misspelling of Stolarczyk on an official podcast is just another symptom of how poorly the club is run across departments. Errors in emails have become common as well.

He still hasn't updated the tax strategy or modern slavery policy, what's he playing it.

At least the new sporting directors on the website, nice selfie of a flag - bet he feels important!

I think the FD being promoted makes these cuts less likely to happen. He’s another part of the furniture been around for years, knows too many people and too engrained in the culture.

That role needed a fresh pair of eyes to make unsentimental hard businesses decisions.

Best bit is we need to massively reduce costs and yet as part of our ‘restructure’ or rearranging of the deck chairs on the Titanic we managed to appoint a new DoF to report directly into a promoted Rudkin who reports direct to Top ….sp effectively all one to one reporting lines, brilliant strategy and efficient use of resources and budget ………. Oh and Monica kept on as MD to report to CEO who reports direct to Aiyawatt, fecking unbelievable doubling down on keeping your mates in place and creating additional buffers. Club literally burning money on dross whilst most likely having to savagely cut jobs of good hard working people with the club at heart

Say McCarron is on 200k p/a (could be more), Rudkin gets an additional 100k, 'Monica' is on 150k on an 'interim' basis, Davies get bumped up by 150k, We've added one net permanent new employee and it's possibly costing us 600k p/a!

We need to adopt a horribe, hard-nosed bean counter mentality right now and we're carrying on as normal with clappers, flamethrowers, beer giveaways and so on. Belvoir Drive needs to be mothballed, cut the stewarding and hospitality numbers, we have to scrimp no before it's too late.

Top will probably end up frittering away all the family money, he's taken us from what, a peak value of £500m down to teetering on administration?

I suspect Monica will fvck off now we have a 'new' CEO.

She was appointed permanently iirc.

Again another win for the "assume everything they do will be wrong" mob and another loss for those than were saying "it's only temporary, leave her alone!".

Christ... i've just learned that along with Tony's sneaky promotion, one of the 4 blokes is now the "Associate Director of Content, Marketing and Digital"

Been with us 17 years.... never had another job.
