The two are related and if you think a media whitewash has no effect on the club and how it's been allowed to destroy itself without criticism at any turn you are naive. No difference between this and the national level sport washing that has allowed the Man City situation. The fans consider themselves the club but have done nothing to try and protect it despite multiple years of outright harm. The two are not the direct cause of the destruction of the football club but a great many of them should be in the dock for aiding and abetting. IMO

It's not hilarious that the clubs own fans have allowed two people to do the 2nd part of your post with a whimper. Some still actively celebrate it after every game.
