It might feel that way but we’re actually roughly where we’ve been for most of our history I.e. a yoyo club.

That’s fine I get that ! And I accept that too.

I’ve been there through the ups and downs, we win, we lose, that’s fine !

I also accept that we don’t have a given right to be in the top league and win Trophies all the time.

But what is more important than all of that and what matters most is the “CARE” of the football club and how it’s handled because to me and many others it’s just being ABUSED AND NEGLECTED by KP and that’s the main point of anger and dissatisfaction amongst the fans.

Since the restructuring of the Football league 68 years ago only 13 other clubs have spent more times in the top tier.

Even if we had why should it be accepted, I'd expect Brighton, Brentford  and Bournemouth fans who've spent much more time in the lower leagues to protest if standards drop leading to relegation. !

Fair points but I was responding to the idea that this is our nadir, which it isn’t.

A couple of things there though.

#1 We had never won the League. FA Cup and won a few games in European competitions. So we had gone much higher than we had previously. So returning to "where we were" is more significant. And no it doesn't mean we should have repeated those feats many times over.

#2 The owners set the expectations, built world class training facilities and put in plans for stadium expansion. They clearly weren't expecting to be back "where we were".

That doesn’t take away from the fact that it can get worse and it most probably will at some point.

How much have they donated to local charities (out of interest)?

Wonder if it's more or less than the average person as a percentage of their income  (out of interest)?

Absolutely !
Unfortunately some fans don’t like it when you point out the facts
