Mark Posted 26 September 2004 Posted 26 September 2004 If you don't read the whole post why bother commenting on it? I enjoy watching us score goals, I enjoy watching a midfielder putting in a good tackle, I even enjoy a bit of defensive skill such as a goalie making a good save. Sure I'd prefer if we played Arsenal-style and won, but that isn't as major an issue for me as winning. I find a hoofed goal more entertaining than 10 passes through midfield before losing the ball, so shoot me. Wigan hoof all the time and look where they are, I know there will be certain people who are never satisfied but I'm pretty sure most people wouldn't mind the hoof as much if we were sitting at the top of the table and banging in goals left, right and centre. 'plays unattractive football' is not a good enough reason to sack a manager at our level, 'doesn't get results' is. 21993 Are you sure? I watched Wigan a lot last season when they was live on sky, because i found them quite entertaining. Pace, width, goalscorers, creative midfielders, got the lot this season

Guest Posted 26 September 2004 Posted 26 September 2004 I think he should go now.Not for the results or the state of the team though, I reckon we're playing at our level. I think he should go because why would he want to be associated with a club whose "supporters" call him from a pig to a dog. He's a better man than that. When his replacement comes in I hope it's Peter Taylor, as I've said before, the fans get the club they deserve. Some of the comment on here has been ranged from the ludicrous to the well thought out, the latter however has been few and far between. No doubt you'll all be patting yourselves on the back when he goes, seriously believing that you had a hand in his fate. I never ever thought I'd see a Leicester fan say publicly that he hoped that we lost so the manager got the sack, true loyalty that is. 21843 I am so very sorry for knocking MA's ability as a manager, and you are so right. I have seen the light, how dare we, the fans, demand that this pleasant and agreeable man is sacked? Who on earth do we think we are? I can't believe how disloyal I have been, and would like to apologise to everybody. Keep the faith and Micky. I will still be there to watch Micky and the lads playing in the Conference, no doubt.
Babylon Posted 26 September 2004 Posted 26 September 2004 To be honest I don't care how we play, don't care if we train Pressman to take long shots with the goal kick or if we introduce a minimum height so all players are easier to hoof to. What I do care about is results, and passionate performances, two things which are not happening at the moment and haven't been happening since 02/03 (with a couple of exceptions). The latter is a perhaps a problem of modern football generally but the lack of results is Micky's problem. We're still loosing leads even though the majority of the team from last season that did so is gone, we're not scoring goals, we seem confused and unconfident all the time.It doesn't give me any pleasure to think of Micky being sacked, he is a nice guy and he managed something good at our football club when he took us up during admin which most of us appreciate. But for whatever reason he's not making our squad perform at the moment, the players don't appear to respect him and he has made more bad tactical decisions than good ones. He's stuck in a rut and so are we so it would probably be best for both parties that we part with him... never been the same after La Manga (at least). We're stagnant at the moment and need a change, someone who can come in and have fresh tactics, a new perspective on the squad, new goals... someone who can look at all the players equally, including young players, and decide which is our best team based on ability rather than preconceived ideas such as 'I brought him so he needs to be ahead of him' or 'he's played more matches than him so he should play'. I find it sad that some people can be so angry at the fans (enough to wish misfortune on their own team) for being concerned about their club. It may be cliché but we will be here after these players and this manager have left. 21974 Excellent post Louise, shame some people don't have the brain power to read past the first sentance.

So far we have been shocking, but we are still ahead of or one point behind other teams people had down as favourites this year. Are the results and the performances down to just micky, or could it also be down to a team taking time to gel? Look at Leeds virtually a whole new team like us and they are struggling to put a few performances together. I doubt the leeds fans are on the managers back!!

The body language of the players isn't positive, they aren't properly motivated willing to fight for the cause by any means necessary., You can have the best team in Div 1 on paper but if their hearts aren't in it whats the use?? Times up, we been shocking for a long time now. When was the last time you thought we played really well and totally dominated the game? This has got to happen' in Div1 mate with our fans (sort of), stadium and players

Surely we need to bring in some of the youth players in, not that I've ever seen them, Stearman, Petrescu are supposed to be the better ones, any others?
Mark Posted 26 September 2004 Posted 26 September 2004 Stephen Dawson, Tommy Wright and Richard Stearman are ready right now, i'd put them all in and drop Dabizas, Gemmill & Dublin. Get Harper in there when fit and we'd have a better team.
