The Micky Adams Threads - Why He Should GO

Two threads here,

One to say why you think MA’s should stay, what makes him a good manager, what has he brought to the club.

One to say why you think MA’s should go, why he isn’t a good manager, why has his time come to go.

Please be constructive and give examples, we can then compare in an objective way rather than going on gut feel and recent performances.

LET’S HAVE FACTS, OPINION with EVIDENCE TO PROVE YOUR POINT.

The Micky Adams Threads - Why He Should GO

Posted

- Lack of tacticle knowledge.

- No interest in blooding any of our own youth players through.

- Changing the team every season and expecting them to gel.

- Cannot take critism and blames others for bad results.

- No motivation skills.

- Too obsessed with experience.

- Expects experience to get you the results despite how many times he's been proved wrong.

- He never learns from these mistakes.

- He moans about lack of discipline at this club, like its nothing he can do about it - he brought in the players.

- Boring, dire, long ball hoof ball every game

- Likes to play James Scowcroft as a winger

Adams out :D

My thoughts:

Too many games thrown away in closing stages:

Its just happened too many times and things are not going to change. Its a disease that can only be cured by a change in direction and mangement. We always always give games away, wins turn into draws, draws into defeats and so on. Its an epitomy of Adams over the last 18 months and its too many games to count.

Red Cards:

Or discipline is shocking. Four players already sent off and its 26th of September. Our record is as bad as Arsenals and we cant afford to do this. Obviously the mangement cant instill the discipline that is needed on the pitch.

Too Many Old Has beens:

Yes we have very little money but there are too many old has beens at the club and too higher a player turn over. There seems to be little planning for the future and this is down to Micky. I mean what made him think that Blake, Wilcox, Gemmil etc would ever be a sucess.

Our style of Play:

Is rubbish. Its all hit and hope. We struggle to break teams down and we are too predictable. The long ball is a brilliant tactic when its used correctly. Currently we have no midfield and we continually knock the ball to the centre forwards and Scowcroft and its not getting us anywhere. Come on we failed to score against Watford, Brighton and Burnley and thats just not good enough. Dont get me wrong I dont expect to see us playing like Brazil but it would be nice to see us play with some more invention and creativity and with Micky this is never going to happen.

He doesnt say the right things:

We were a premiership club so you shouldnt winge about clubs not attacking when they play us at the walkers. And will Connolly and Stewart recieve any fines for thier reds?Doubt it. He accepts situations far to easily without putting up any fight.

I like the guy, hes done great things for the club in its darkest hours but its time to change and plan for the long term future of LCFC.

Seems to lack certain motivational qualities.

Some tactical decisions are very poor

Bit of a weirdo always talkin in person third person "micky Adams feels leicester city were very poor today"

Has favorite and is stubborn wen they play rubbish he wont leave them out e.g stewart, Scowcroft on the wing, Dabizas

Got Rid of stefan Freud and let our better players from last year leave far to easily and even encouraged them to go by telling them about the release clause in their contracts

If he's told players about release clauses that they had forgotten about, the mans got to go.

Seems to me if this board is anything to go by that he has lost the popular support which means his departure is inevitable.

- Because any optimism I had as a Leicester City fan vanished a long time ago, aswell as the contents of my wallet and bank account (the club's fault not MA's but never mind)

- Signs young players like Canero and hardly plays them, even though he says he is trying to introduce youth into the team more. I think he must've signed him for the sake of it.

Most of what other people have said, but what annoys me is his lack of passion and desire. Every time you look over to the bench he is there sitting down, hand on chin. We need someone like O'neil who cares and is active on the touch line motivating players and shouting instructions etc. how he can sit there and not get involved is beyond me.

Also playing duffers like Stewart and Blake doesn't help.

Stewart has got a 2 week fine. But i agree with you about most of the rest.

But Blake was signed as a proven players, Wilcox has had an england cap. Stewart has the potential to be good.

He's lost the plot, doesn't know his best XI, plays player's out of position, tactically inept . Playing Scowcroft right/left wing, and Adams wonders why we can't break down teams. Reluctance to give young talented player's a chance who would give there all cpmpared to the so called experience we've drafted in who show no commitment or skill. No creativity, no retention of the ball, no width, no pace, no ideas.

No Passion

No Fight

Doesnt make any decent substitutions

Discipline is poor

Starts Blake over Wright

Releases the likes of Sinclair and Davidson and signs worse players such as Wilcox.

Basically i think he's lost the plot.

Sorry, Davieg, now BM has edited his post I see it is Wilcox that is being referred to. That will be the Wilcox who put in the best performance anyone has in a city shirt this season against Sheff Utd.

It has to come down to Micky's tactical ability. It was evident last season, particularly in the must win game against Blackburn at Ewood Park and has been the same this season.

Our play is one-dimensional long ball with a very narrow team. This makes it easy for well-organised opposing teams to defend against us. As such, our game (without wingers) allows opposing full-backs to tuck in next to their central defenders, and keep as a tight defensive unit. If we had wingers, we could strectch the play and pull full-backs out, creating space between full-backs and centre-backs for our forwards or midfielders to exploit. In short, we handicap ourselves. Now the obvious come-back is how did we manage to score plenty of goals in the premiership with this tactic? Towards the end of the season, we were found out tactically by opposing managers (not difficult) and our goal-record started to slip as we were outmanoeuvred with Adams unable to inject any ingenuity into his tactics. This is the same this season, and the reason we were unable to break down Burnley, Brighton and Watford.

He has had four games since that poor performance against Brighton, and there appears to be no corrections made or alterations. People will point to the results after that game, but in truth, no single leicester fan cannot say that they do not expect us to play as badly as that again within the next 5 games.

If this does not persuade you that Micky should go, then I will point you to the best indicator. If a team has good players, yet is struggling, then the management is lacking. We may not have the strongest team in the league, but player for player, we do not have a team that is the 16th best in this division.

Having said all that, I do not think Micky should get as much abuse as he does. Despite what some people have been saying, he was instrumental in helping to get this club back on its feet during one of the gravest moments this club has faced with administration. We had to get automatic promotion, and he, along with players, did that. For this, I will always thank him, and remember him for it. In short, it possible helped to save us. If he is fired (which he should be) I thank him and wish him all the very best in the future.

I think I need to start learning how to reply without writing essays. Sorry for that

Performing once in 10 games simply isnt good enough is it?

Excellent post, agree with everything you say. Don't worry about the size of your posts, they're refreshing to read.

Performance is a subjective measurement. If we are measuring against high expectations then you are right. If we are measuring against where others see the club's true level, then not.

I believe we are measuring against micky's expectations. "Top two" and "judge me after two games" spring to mind

All of the above, especially losing the fans, AND the pathetic excuses he comes out with after every drawn/lost game. "We played well in patches, could have scored a few goals, we will be working hard in training to put things right" etc etc.

Never really checked these boards and to be honest I'm suprised with the amount of fans wanting adams out, most other leicetser fans I've heard speak about the matter (with exception of those fakes that ring up the phone-in) agree that very few managers indeed would have been able to produce instant results after having to sell probably close to £15 million worth of players and then replace them with a completely new team of freebies, especially in this division....

Some Leicester fans seem to have very short memories, we are not a massive club, we have no RIGHT to be in the prem or at the top of division one, we just happened to have one magnificent manager who brought a lot of glory to the club. The chances of finding another MO however much we want it are so slim that even if we change the manager we are unlikely to end up with someone of much more quality than MA. I agree the current results are not good enough, as with the current quality of this division I feel we should at be at least swiftly climbing into the top half yet MA should at least be given another few weeks to see if this is the direction in which we are progressing.

However, the one big problem I do have with his current management his obssession with past-it players. To keep bringing in so called experienced veterans is not a quick fix to get us back to the prem, it's a sure fire plan to make sure the time it takes us to get back their is continually delayed. We should put faith is some younger blood even if it does mean we have to spend a season wallowing around mid-table division one while we watch it develop and come good, it will.

that is all.
