stez Posted 6 January 2006 Posted 6 January 2006 It's not the maternity leave that bothers me it's the days they have off on the sick the minute they find out they are pregnant! cut them some slack, they've got booties and baby grows and stuff to buy!
Thracian Posted 6 January 2006 Posted 6 January 2006 You can get arrested for saying that nowadays in this Country You can arrested for anything, anytime now. Every day they think up more things for folk to be arrested for. They'll only be happy when either everyone works for the Government - or they're in the nick.

Thracian Posted 6 January 2006 Posted 6 January 2006 But my original question still hasn't been answered when did it become an illness? I mean we all know about Morning Sickness but being pregnant shouldn't mean you can pull the wool over your employers eyes and sit on yer arse all day on sickness benefits, then go on maternity leave for six months. I've seen both ends of the spectrum, one of my employees worked up until the day she had her baby, had her maternity and returned to work just before xmas but she is an exception to the rule. Employ more people like that!.
Katy Posted 7 January 2006 Posted 7 January 2006 cut them some slack, they've got booties and baby grows and stuff to buy! Dont think that comment hasnt gone unnoticed either. Id love for a bloke to get up the duff, just one mind because we dont want all of them moaning their arses off at the slightest thing. I mean look what you are like when you get 'the flu' jeezzz, you wouldnt know whats hit you. Ok Allen a couple of them could well swing the lead but you dont actually know how they are feeling, some people can be quite 'ill' whilst expecting. No, pregnancy is not an illness but some of the secondary ailments that occur when you are pregnant can make it so. When people go on about the horror stories of pregnancy and birth they arent making it up you know!
