Bluefoxtim Posted 2 October 2004 Posted 2 October 2004 LATEST TEAM NEWS Leicester City come into Saturday's home game with Preston on the back of a poor run at the Walkers Stadium. The Foxes have registered 10 points from a possible 15 on their travels so far - but have secured just five points at home. That leaves Micky Adams' men standing an indifferent 10th in the Championship. Not surprisingly, striker Dion Dublin believes the position can be improved upon - starting with Preston's visit. He told City's official website: "We have been poor at home and that is something we need to sort out. It is not for a lack of trying I tell you. "It is difficult to put your finger on just what has been going wrong, but we have the confidence to put it right," he said. With David Connolly suspended, Dublin played alongside Trevor Benjamin in Tuesday night's 2-0 victory at Gillingham - scoring the second goal - and said the combination worked well. "It's completely different playing alongside Trevor Benjamin as opposed to David Connolly. David wants it into his feet and does bits and bobs on the edge of the box. "Benji is all over the pitch and his workrate is phenomenal." Such a performance could pose Micky Adams a selection problem as Connolly should be available on Saturday, along with Nathan Blake, who has been sidelined with a toe injury Other players who could come back into contention are Scottish International winger Peter Canero and Foxes skipper Matt Elliott - who had been scheduled to return at Gillingham. Suspended Jordan Stewart is back in contention, but both Lee Morris and Keith Gillespie are set to miss out again - Morris not figuring since his summer arrival, while Gillespie has been injured since the end of August. Meanwhile, Preston boss Billy Davies is hoping to welcome back both Marlon Broomes and Andy Smith. Broomes - out of action since August - suffered a slight reaction on his comeback from ankle ligament damage in Preston Reserves' midweek defeat by Rotherham. Smith is rated 50-50 with the ankle injury that kept him out of Tuesday's draw with Plymouth. Want-away David Healy is available after suffering a groin strain, but Chris Lucketti - suffering the same problem - is said to be 10 days away from recovery. And Simon Lynch is serving the second game of a three-match ban. http://skysports.planetfootball.com/Article.asp?id=229043 My score prediction is 2 - 1 Leicester!

kirkup21 Posted 2 October 2004 Posted 2 October 2004 I'm just going on what I seen on sky sports news earlier, it said 'Stewart and Connolly both suspended' but fair enough if he isn't.
Oli Posted 2 October 2004 Posted 2 October 2004 All i can say is, Adams Out. He aint got a clue. Just **** off now, leave us alone never come back.
filbertway Posted 2 October 2004 Posted 2 October 2004 It was a great performance first half, more than can be said for the ref . We could have won 4 or 5 nil easy, it just didnt go in.
Oli Posted 2 October 2004 Posted 2 October 2004 First 30 Minutes! Then Micky didnt know what to do when Trev got injured, so guess what, we went back to the hoof. Micky hasnt got a clue tactically, he just plays the hoof.
Mark Posted 2 October 2004 Posted 2 October 2004 What a load of rubbish. 3 minutes for Tommy Wright? Connolly taken off mental. Dublin is useless, get him OFF ADAMS OUT.
filbertway Posted 2 October 2004 Posted 2 October 2004 I must say that, the decision to take connolly off confused me. And i would prefer to see 20 mins of wright rather than the last 5.
Ash Posted 2 October 2004 Posted 2 October 2004 Dublin was awful today , I dunno why he took Connolly off !
Anish Posted 2 October 2004 Posted 2 October 2004 I must say that, the decision to take connolly off confused me. And i would prefer to see 20 mins of wright rather than the last 5. 23826[/snapback] Confused? It angered me, I was livid that Dublin didn't come off. And Williams was pathetic too. Adams out...
New England Fox Posted 2 October 2004 Posted 2 October 2004 Been a member for a while but this is my first post. I went to the game today and it was my first visit back to the Walkers since the last home game of last season as due to the fact that i live 150 miles away i generally cant afford to go and see the boys too often. Although that is changing and from now on i hope to go to most if not all the home games. After reading most of the posts on here since the start of the season I really wasnt expecting much today and at first I was pleasently surprised. For the first 35 minutes we played really well. We were passing the ball nicely and really should have been 3-0 up instead of just the one 1. But as soon as Benjamin went off we lost all shape. I didnt think Benjamin and Dublin played well together as they always seemed to be occupying the same space. But then again Dublin was shite the entire match. The freak goal seemed to just totally knock all the stuffing out of us. 2nd half we seemed to huff and puff alot but all the good passing, the movement, tracking back, fighting for the loose ball and generally looking like they wanted to win seemed to totally dissapear. It just seemed to be constant hoofs up field just like last season. Tiatto seemed to be the only one who was really trying, Dublin was shite like I already mentioned and Conolly was invisible after he came on. Although saying that why he subbed Conolly and not Dublin is a mystery. Surely if he is chasing the game he should have brought Wright on when he took Williams off and pushed the three upfront? or is that too logical. The most annoying part of it all is that Pressman didnt have one save to make. Preston never looked like they were even going to try to win the game and I guess if it wasnt for that freak goal then it could have been a different story.
Wellman Posted 2 October 2004 Posted 2 October 2004 if you look through our squad list, we have a really good bunch off players, we should piss this league basically. Something isn't right here, we have the players, but its not working, mmmm who could it be causing this problem??? MICKEY MOUSE ADAMS, get out before you cause any more damage!
Bluefoxtim Posted 2 October 2004 Author Posted 2 October 2004 We played fantastic right up until super trev went off injured. We really could have been about 4 nil up after 30 mins.
Wellman Posted 2 October 2004 Posted 2 October 2004 i think someones already said this but as its so true i will repeat it. As soon as Trev went off we played the hoof again and again and again. Joey is a prime example. We were playing really good PASSING ON THE FLOOR football, and as soon as trev got injured HOOF.
