I've voted Phil Thompson, experience at the top, helped players like owen and gerrard through at Liverpool, good touchline enthusiasm and tactical knowledge. Gary Johnson I am a fan of too, passing football, never say die attitude and a young lad Lee Johnson who looks a good prospect.

Gary Johnson,Has worked succesfully abroad,Has won things, plays quality football,Used to working on a budget, mixes youth with experience and foreign signings.Could we get him though?

Dave Penney please.

Two promotions in two consecutive seasons playing attractive football with barely any money to spend. :)

has to be Mike Newell for me. here are my reasons for saying this.....

1/ ex leicester player

2/ Got Hartlepool promoted with even less money than we have.

3/ Has took Luton out of administration

4/ Has brought youth through at Luton

5/ Has guided a team which 6 months ago was in administation, to being 11 points clear after 14 games in FL1.

6/ Has done this not with expensive players or old timers but by playing good football with a good team spirit with young players.

7/ Mike Newell's blue and white army sounds good aswell

8/ And iv had £20 quid on him at 12-1 to become our next manager!!!!! :D

For those voting for Gary Mc errrrrr Why?

Gary Mcs record at Cov is none too bright

21 wins in 76 games. Or in other words less than 13 wins a season. Just about mid-table if you are lucky. Brief Spell = 18 months.

Don't get me wrong Gary Mc was an excellent player but this talk of him being our manager is at best looking through rose coloured spectacles and at worse utter bolloxs - to quote a Cov fan from the Foxs Fanzine Site:

There are plenty of your fans talking about Garry Macca as a future manager. The only good thing about Garry Mac as player manager for Cov was Garry Mac the player. His 18 month reign was attrocious - he brought in some truely dreadful players Dean Holdsworth 1 goal in 21 games, Dean Gordon, Dele Adebole Vincente Engonge ( who yes a Spanish 37 year old)a certain Steve Walsh for a game that we lost 5-2.

He has the worst win ratio of any Cov manager, he managed the club through its worst run ever just avoiding relegation in his first season. He got rid of our younger players Eustace, Boothroyd McSheffery prefering to use unheard of loan players or established loan players who just did not want to play for the club - Matt Jansen in particular.

He was such a popular player, and also due to his family circumstances the fans never got on his back but his period as manager was a shambles.

Does that sound like a someone to take this club forward - No thought NOT

Sounds pretty horrible that does. But being a manager is a funny old game, that what Taylor did to us but if you tried to slag him off to a Hull fan they would laugh at you. I wouldn't been too keen on Gary, but I don't know what to think anymore. I just want this club sorted, don't care who it is just sort it.

Take your point Hoof but with all due respect Taylor is not a very good example, he has only ever looked good in the lower leagues and with the under 21's, where he had the cream of the country's young players all busting a gut, with out the need for motivation to succeed.

Yeah I know, but there are other cases. Such as Strachan at Cov and Southampton. Dalglish at Liverpool, Blackburn and then at Newcastle. O'Neill at Norwich and Leicester. Nigel Worthington at Blackpool and Norwich.

I just think that optimism is very low at the club at the minute and it's hard to even think of anything positive towards someone with a debatable past.
