Why was it Levein's fault that Dawson left? He offered him a new contract.

Similar to young Weso it was for actually a reduction in terms. Hope the same don't happen again. Those in charge should act quickly to correct such a situation. Both probably see it not as their fault that we're scraping the bottom of the table but others that have been paid well to do much better.

As for Mr Flair and Mr C well spotted all those years ago. And people used to think you both were crazy. Would you kindly apply for scouting positions at LCFC and get them to give you flight and accomodation to go and spot a few more for us in Oz.

I know that, but surely that's the board's fault for not offering him as much, not Levein's.

Agreed Louise, but let's not let them make the same mistake twice.

:)

I doubt they will as Dawson had yet to break into the first team while Weso not only has managed that but has looked very good. I wouldn't be surprised if they hold off on a new contract until the summer though to see how his leg is doing.

I can't see how Weso could be offered reduced terms as he is on a 5 year scholarship contract so he'll likely only be on a very basic wage of nothing more than a couple of hundred quid. I seem to recall that Dawson had signed a professional contract a few years ago so was likely to be on a higher salary but even so it was still quite frustrating. It might not have been Levein's fault, but he was given a budget and it was down to him on how he used it, Dawson obviously wasn't high up on his list.

Wesolowski is a different kettle of fish though, the lad potentially is the best player we are ever likely to see at this club in our current plight and he should be given a very lucrative contract with performance related bonuses to keep him on track. I know it might be abit risky to offer him a new deal, but out of good will alone I would do it. I'm sure there was talk of a new deal last summer and within the past month or so, so just because he's had a set back I think the club and player should both show their faith in tandem and agree a new long term deal.

Teeno reckons he wants to stay, he also said that they are sorting out a new contract and Davies told me he was aswell (although that was before the second break) so it looks promising to me.

but wasnt the decrease in squad size and wage reduction done to cover for this eventuality? unlike teams like leeds who now need to go up because they have gambled.

a moot point but what was that stephen dawson like that left us last summer? just wondering if CL maybe cost us a good player or not.

No that was because Adams was given extra the first season for wages and transfers. Which is quite a bit more than the parachute payment.

We WILL have to slash the budget again, Dublin, Wilcox, De Vries, Morris and Tiatto have/will all be gone at the end of the season so that will help.

I think from things I read that the first season down our budget was about 9/10m. This season it's about 6/7. I would think next season our budget will be about 4/5.

Maybe the trust will know a little more about any cuts that will/may be needed if someone wants to ask them.

Hi Peter,

I'm interested to know how James is getting on following his recent injury.

Also can you clarify what his contract situation is, which is becoming a

cause of concern for most fans. We've recently had news of new contracts for

Sheehan and O'Grady but have heard nothing of James. Is there a reason for

this such as his injury, will he be offered a contract, if not why?

Regards

Thank you for your e mail. I understand that James is progressing well and is at the Training Ground working with the physios.

I am unaware of the personal arrangements of his contract but I do know that he is not out of contract at the end of the season.I know the fans think he is an excellent prospect.

Seen him at the top of Welford road about 1.15 yesterday before the game, was standing there with his crutches so went to speak to him.

Really top lad he is, spoke to me and me mate for a couple of minuites. He has an operation on firday (so fingers crossed for that). He said it wasn't bad as last time and He should be ok around May time. I cheekily asked him about his contract, he has another year left but he said he loves it heere and they're sorting out a longer one

He thinks that we'll be class next season, He can't wait and think that Kelly is the dogs bollocks. Didn't want to come across as a stalker so I said goodbuy and carried on walking towards the pub as he waited for his lift of Richard Stearman.

At last some positiveness
