MON Posted 20 October 2004 Posted 20 October 2004 The only recognised right backs we have are canero and Makin, i dont rate either. But Makin has been shocking in the last couple of games. Therefore i think Canero should get a run once he's fit. I can't believe we got rid of mad frank, we could of offered the same wages as Burnley.
Scow Posted 20 October 2004 Posted 20 October 2004 I believe that Makin is the better right back out of the two. He started off the season very well, but his suspension and then subsequent injury seems to have affected his form. If Canero was fit, I would play him currently to show Makin he's not indispensable to the team. Unfortunately we don't have that luxury so we have continue with him. Either that or we get John Curtis back. He's available on a free apparently in January, hmmmmmm......
kirkup21 Posted 20 October 2004 Posted 20 October 2004 I'd rather have Bassett at right back rather than John Curtis
Guest Daniel Posted 20 October 2004 Posted 20 October 2004 He's here, he's there, he's every f'ing where. Franks better than both of them in my opinion.
Ash Posted 20 October 2004 Posted 20 October 2004 Makin for me , hes likes to get stuck in more , plus i havent saw Canero play a good game for us yet
Hoof Fox Posted 20 October 2004 Posted 20 October 2004 Mad Frank for me always played with commitment and passion and was a solid defender especially at this level.
Anish Posted 20 October 2004 Posted 20 October 2004 Canero please. Makin doesn't get 'stuck in' - he is always too far away from the winger to even block the crosses. Makin offers nothing going forward (heard of overlaaping Chris??). And as for his throw-ins in the last two games, schoolboys could throw more accurately. Shame that Canero is always bloody injured.
Ric Flair Posted 21 October 2004 Posted 21 October 2004 It's a shame that Canero is always injured, he wasn't injury prone at Kilmarnock. Let's hope he gets that sorted out as we need him. I thought Canero looked quality last season against Man City and Charlton when he started. I'm not sure what his best position is though and he needs to build his confidence back up because he looked nervous earlier this season. He is a good player though, he played really well when he made his Scotland debut and they played him in a free role behind the strikers or that's what it appeared like anyway. He was everywhere, so he's got the talent. Celtic wanted him but couldn't afford £250,000 which is good for us really. I rate Makin, he's only had one dodgy match really. I would play them both if I could and get Scowcroft upfront then. Tiatto and Stewart worked well down the left and both changed positions with each other during the match, it was effective.
Marcoos Posted 21 October 2004 Posted 21 October 2004 Makin for me. 2 bad games and he is not alone there...
Guest Posted 21 October 2004 Posted 21 October 2004 Makin started off well, but recently, he hasn't shown that form. I would play Canero, if fit, to see why Killies fans rated him so highly. He couldn't be any worse, surely? (Famous last words.....)
Buzzell Posted 21 October 2004 Posted 21 October 2004 Makin is the better player but he is very agressive and always gets booked, which we dont need. Canero hasnt proven hisself. Hopefully he will start performing well in training. He's young and I guess he is talented but he does have a injury problem which sucks. Makin for me, only because Canero hasnt proven himself.
Ash Posted 21 October 2004 Posted 21 October 2004 He's here, he's there, he's every f'ing where.Franks better than both of them in my opinion. 28061[/snapback] Your having a laff :w00t: ::
Cat Burger Posted 23 October 2004 Posted 23 October 2004 Canero for me, I'd like to see us play a diamond in midfield so Scowcroft and Tiatto aren't wasted as much out wide, with that formation we need quick full backs, Canero has been great whenever I've seen him and theres been an improvement within Stewart. Also Makin is 30ish and not one for the future. So Scottish Peter for me!!!
