Rather annoyingly they keep playing this on XFM. Couple that with their Jack Johnson obsession it is all getting a bit Virgin Radio.

I have no time for meaningless, middle of the road, inoffencive, sterile music of the Keane/Maroon 5 ilk.

Orson are just another band that are for largely for pople who see music as the sound track to their dinner parties not as the sound track to the lives. Seriously, there is nothign to get excieted or inspired about is there?

I hate how songs get over played on the radio and ruined of their unique reputations, but unfortunately thats how it goes. It's happened a lot with music that we now class as 'indie' it comes out, the core fans listen to it for a few months, then it finds its way onto the radio about 5 months later and everyone in the world is raving about it. It's the only way the band are going to make a living though. I go off a lot of music purely because the radio stations can overplay it and bore the hell out of it which when you've been listening to a song for the past 5 months or so isn't hard to do.

I love this song though, as did i love jack johnson when he was getting peanuts for his original stuff, it seems every chav and joe listens to it all now though

Orson are just another Maroon 5 wannabe.

I've heard the album and it is very poor to be honest. The only standout track is No Tomorrow and that is very overplayed now.

Boring.

I'm growing on "No tomorrow" only 'cos when me and my mate go out in his car he insists that is the first song that is played. <_<

So the music you like goes shit when 'every chav and joe' listens to it? So you are only interested in the kudos a band gives you for being out of the mainstream, and when they break into the charts and a wider demograph like them it ruins it?

So really you are just listening to music to try and be cool.

This whole thing really annoys me, like people that liked Arctic Monkeys and now hate them cause they are sooo popular. Same with Coldplay and every other band on that scale.

Listen to the music not to be cool but cause its good.

This Orson song is a good pop song, I wouldn't buy it cause it sounds like Maroon 5 but not cause its popular.

Too right. Liking a song doesn't mean you have to buy the t-shirt and make them a lifestyle choice either.

I like the song, and will probably download it. I'm not arsed about the album or the tour or the live performance on Blue Peter.

So how do you work this out?

If i was trying to be cool i'd listen to the music, then when it becomes popular brag about how long i've known of it. I've said that i like jack johnson and orson.... where have i said that i've begun to dislike it purely because others listen to it? In fact i've said the opposite, that bands need the huge publicity to become as big as they need to earn a living and what not.

I said that it was the overplaying of the songs on the radio e.g. Natures law by embrace is on every 5 minutes on the radio currently that puts me off songs, so another words to ur post... no!

EDIT: oh and yea, the arctic monkeys are pretty sh1t but thats my opinion, i've only ever liked 'when the sun goes down'. Coldplay on the other hand are amazing.
