Guest Posted 26 October 2004 Posted 26 October 2004 If it wasn't for John Peel, I would have missed out on some great music. RIP.
Hullfox Posted 26 October 2004 Posted 26 October 2004 R.I.P John you'll be sorely missed 29733[/snapback] Never realised how well liked the man was. Had three phone calls tonight asking me to take things to the city where he died as way of a memorial. I'm off there in three weeks. I'll be eternally grateful for him discovering the Undertones.
Teeno Posted 26 October 2004 Posted 26 October 2004 Can't say I knew the bloke before today, but neverless RIP mate.
kerryh Posted 27 October 2004 Posted 27 October 2004 He was a god - I remember going to bed listening to him on the radio when I was a kid.
Ric Flair Posted 27 October 2004 Posted 27 October 2004 Did so much for music and questions have to be asked whether music will suffer severly now. R.I.P John Peel will never truely die.
Ricey Posted 27 October 2004 Posted 27 October 2004 I'm only young but I have always loved John Peel, i was gutted when I read this on teletext last night Really was a shock. He did so much much for up and coming bands (was a big part in making Nirvana big) and he really did change music a great deal. He was also a very interesting man who has always interested me. He died in Cuzco in Peru, his life time ambition was to see the lost Inca city of Machu Picchu but he died when he got there My dad has been to Cuzco and seen the Machu Picchu so it seems a little strange. A great man who I will always love. R.I.P John...thank you.
