Luke_Leicester_Lad Posted 23 April 2006 Posted 23 April 2006 Just wondering, doing a poll on whether you want Andy Welsh to sign a permanent deal with Leicester City Football Club. Seeing as we do need a Left Winger as Danny tiato is simply no good. I would like to hear your opinions!
dandannieldanok Posted 23 April 2006 Posted 23 April 2006 Yes! We should sign him up as I don't think a skint club like Leicester will find much better. He is hard-working, honest and a good crosser with the left boot Similar to Steve Guppy who did a sound job.
Benji Posted 23 April 2006 Posted 23 April 2006 I don't think you can jsut assess how good he is, but also how good he is for the budget we have On the other thread about welsh, people would think we have got millions to splash out on a quality winger Well in case people still have their heads in the sand, we don't! I reckon he is a very good player especially at this standard, with match fitness he could be great as he not only attacks but helps out the left back. Any player who is a natural left sided player and is significantly better than Welsh, is in the premiership or abroad and will not be on the next train to Leicester! That said, i doubt sunderland would let us have him now they're down
Knighton Matt Posted 23 April 2006 Posted 23 April 2006 As long as he costs next to nothing then why not? Good squad player to have.
Luke_Leicester_Lad Posted 23 April 2006 Author Posted 23 April 2006 But would sunderland want him back as they are coming down the the championship next season and may need him. But they have Julio Arca on the wing at the moment.

Middo Posted 23 April 2006 Posted 23 April 2006 Julio Arca is beeter then welsh so welsh woulndt over take Arc place so as long as welsh is possbly under 15 we should be alrite wit already money from joeys Transfer so....

Do you care to put that in English as I haven't a clue as to what you are trying to say?
Luke_Leicester_Lad Posted 23 April 2006 Author Posted 23 April 2006 How much are AZ Alkmaar buying him for anyone know? Or is he going on a free?

Luke_Leicester_Lad Posted 23 April 2006 Author Posted 23 April 2006 That is pathetic! If a premiership Club looked at him now he would be worth about 2 million.
Jimmy Posted 23 April 2006 Posted 23 April 2006 Julio Arca is beeter then welsh so welsh woulndt over take Arc place so as long as welsh is possbly under 15 we should be alrite wit already money from joeys Transfer so.... 1) welsh is in his early 20's and 2) joey is leaving on a free

As long as Welsh is under 15, Noah will definitely let him on his ark where ironically he will be adopted by a Welsh person with a Stella addiction, affectionately known as 'Beater'.

DaveyJ Posted 23 April 2006 Posted 23 April 2006 any other ideas? I like the sound of Carlos Edwards, but he may be a little expensive. Or Colin Kazeem-Richards, apparently he can play on the wing.
Scow Posted 23 April 2006 Posted 23 April 2006 I think he's more effective than Hamill and Smith, but he needs to be delivering more crosses. Good cross on his weaker foot for Fryatt yesterday, but he needs to be doing more of that. I wouldn't mind making the signing permanent, dependent on the budget of course.
Scow Posted 23 April 2006 Posted 23 April 2006 I like the sound of Carlos Edwards, but he may be a little expensive. Or Colin Kazeem-Richards, apparently he can play on the wing. Edwards plays on the right though, although he would be a good addition.
DaveyJ Posted 23 April 2006 Posted 23 April 2006 Edwards plays on the right though, although he would be a good addition. Thats problematice but the right needs sorting too, unless we persist with Maybury.
Scow Posted 23 April 2006 Posted 23 April 2006 Thats problematice but the right needs sorting too, unless we persist with Maybury. It's been debated before about Maybury, but I think Kelly would be more interested in having a right side that functions well (Just like Stearman and Maybury have) than Stearman and a winger, which will have to strike up a new understanding. I get the feeling that the majority of the starting line up will be retained for next season to maintain some consistency. Kelly said he won't be making too many changes over the summer, partly down to money restrictions with the ceasing of parachute payments.
DaveyJ Posted 23 April 2006 Posted 23 April 2006 What about the Brighton pair Frutos and Carole. Frotus is a left sided midfielder, not sure if he's a winger though. Carole is a winger but I don't know which side.
