Chairman of the Bored Posted 8 May 2006 Posted 8 May 2006 Only just started and they've been great so far. Watford ace on Saturday. Preston/Leeds WW3 tonight. Lots more frills and spills to come. Hope we get in there next season! Alkthough of course, I'd rather just go straight up (unlikely). Best City play off memories: 1. Beating Cambridge 5-0 (first time we'd done anything great for donkey's years!). 2. Claridge winner vs Palace. 3. Ormondroyd's orgasm after scoring against Tranny. 4. Beating the Sheep Shaggers. 5. Parker's winner at Stoke; Neil lennon's underpants; holding back the Stoke muppets!
Ultra Posted 8 May 2006 Posted 8 May 2006 I'll add some more.. 6. Joachim's winner against Pompey. 7. Ormondroyd's VERY dodgy equaliser in the second leg, for which the locals have yet to forgive us.. 8. Thompson's equaliser v. Swindon, when the greatest comeback in Wembley history looked possible. 9. Speedie's bust-up with Eric Nixon v. Tranmere 10. Kevin Poole's incredible save v. Stoke (first leg). On balance though I'd still prefer automatic promotion, 2003-style. I'm getting on and my nerves couldn't cope with that amount of tension any more..
Nationwider Posted 9 May 2006 Posted 9 May 2006 11. The ticketing arrangements for the Blackburn game in 1992. How many hours did we queue for??? 12. All 120 minutes of Neil Lennon's performance v Palace. 13. Kalac's glorious return in the same match.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 9 May 2006 Posted 9 May 2006 Specifically, the look on Nigel Martyn's face as Claridge's shot flew past him. I was in line with the goal and his expression was priceless. Also the half-second delay between ball hitting back of net and fan celebrations. Never known anything quite like that.
Gené and Tonic Posted 9 May 2006 Posted 9 May 2006 The comentators reaction was great as well. "Well that could be....the winner from Claridge..IT IS!!"
Matt Posted 9 May 2006 Posted 9 May 2006 I do like them but only when a team I don't support are involved, Hate it when your own team are in them, Exciting but horrible!
Deathside Posted 10 May 2006 Posted 10 May 2006 The Play Offs, Don't you just love 'em? I've gone off the play offs now that leeds have reached the final - Fortunetly I only watched the first half of the preston leeds 2nd leg
Chairman of the Bored Posted 10 May 2006 Author Posted 10 May 2006 Feel a bit cheated that's it's only a UEFA Cup Final tonight. Bring back the P-Offs.
