Derby look to Newell

Recommended Posts

Is he serious or does he just like to be interviewed?

From Sky:

Luton Town manager Mike Newell has become the frontrunner to take the vacant Derby County job.

Newell has reportedly been interviewed to replace caretaker-manager Terry Westley after County's new ownership decided against handing the full-time position to the club's Academy boss.

Newell had looked to have committed his long-term future to The Hatters in March when the club announced he had agreed a new four-year deal. However, the 41-year-old quickly rebuffed these claims, stating that nothing had yet been signed.

Derby are now ready to move in and lure Newell away from Kenilworth Road and are understood to have interviewed the Hatters boss.

Mick McCarthy, Kevin Keegan and Brian Little have also been linked with the vacant position at Pride Park.

WTF, Newell should be known as Judas, but then again he can't be happy at Luton if he wants to be interviewed by the shite Derby!!!

Things change, perhaps when we wanted him he wasn't 100% sure he wanted to leave Luton. Now it's the end of the season and he's facing up to the harsh reality of small crowds for another season and hardly and transfer money he now wants to move on. It was said at the time that many managers don't like leaving clubs half way through a season.

Even so, why he'd want to go there i'll never no. Less money than us, more debts and a crapper team even though they do have one or two decent youngsters.
