davieG Posted 2 November 2004 Posted 2 November 2004 Not just who you want out, they could go for a fee, or because we have sufficient cover. Due to the limit of 20 I've left out: Gemmil - not really in yet Wilcox - long term injury Logan - Never really played yet Wright & Stearman- Not really part of the squad yet I reckon it will be someone on a longer contract who's not really contributing and we may get a nominal fee for him - Gudjonssen
Cobbo Posted 2 November 2004 Posted 2 November 2004 Gillespie. Useless lump of shite. Hmm, more votes for Joey than Blake. Interesting.
davieG Posted 2 November 2004 Author Posted 2 November 2004 Gillespie.Useless lump of shite. Hmm, more votes for Joey than Blake. Interesting. 32560[/snapback] Same actually, but that's based on the fact that we might get something for him and he hasn't exactly set the world on fire. Nobody would want Blake, would they - so we'd still have to pay his wages.
Connolly!!! Posted 2 November 2004 Posted 2 November 2004 Dabizas will be first out I hope!! Utter Shite!!!
Anish Posted 2 November 2004 Posted 2 November 2004 As much as I would like it to be Dublin and Blake (we should offer any club interested in either a 'buy one get one free' offer!) I think it will be Gillespie for his attitude problem and general laziness. Back to the bookies for him methinks.
Scarby Posted 2 November 2004 Posted 2 November 2004 Makin..Just dont like the lad. He doesnt fit in IMO
Ric Flair Posted 11 November 2004 Posted 11 November 2004 I love the fact that now i've dug this thread up, a few people have voted Dublin!!!! There was only 1 vote when I looked and now there's 4. 3 sneaky buggers claiming they were right
Guest Posted 11 November 2004 Posted 11 November 2004 I voted Blake, but that's just wishful thinking....

davieG Posted 11 November 2004 Author Posted 11 November 2004 Well my guess at Joey is looking a bit silly now
shen Posted 11 November 2004 Posted 11 November 2004 Joey will do well at Leicester I feel...he hasn't really got the proper chance yet, but looking at the recent games, it seems Levein has already set a settled side. To be honest, I will find a tough time naming a better XI than the one against Cov.. Hopefully Dublin will go..he's probably on astronomical wages and hes the worst player Levein has seen yet (game vs. Cardiff) so I think the writing's on the wall...
Anish Posted 11 November 2004 Posted 11 November 2004 I think Dublin's wages could prove a stumbling block to any prospective buyers, unfortunately. I admit I was way off the mark about Gillespie though!
TrickyTrev Posted 11 November 2004 Posted 11 November 2004 Benjamin will probabaly go on loan if Levein doesn't fancy him. I can imagine Dublin being difficult to off load to be honest due to wages. Dabizas will get shown the foor after Levein gets a proper look at him I would have thought and I doubt Gemmill will get a contract. Other than that I suspect we will keep the same squad between now and the end of the season, we can't have too many changes mid-season as it is nototirously difficult to replace players adaquetly. My personal choice would be Joey GJ but I see we are thin in the midfield department so keeping him on till the end of the season is probably the wise thing to do.

He is class.
Ric Flair Posted 12 November 2004 Posted 12 November 2004 Gudjonsson is on a two year deal so he won't be going and quite rightly so. He's only 23 and to be quite honest I think he will get better and better, just like another one of our foreign midfielders has done. Gudjonsson hasn't played regular football for about two years after being farmed out onloan to Villa where he played only a dozen games and then he only played a similar amount at Wolves last season. Although he's played in the english league before it's still probably alot different to what he's acustomed to. He's shown glimpses of quality in some of the games he's played and he is definately a quality player to have in your squad in this league. Real Betis wouldn't pay £3,000,000 for him if he was that bad, he's probably just gone abit stale in the past year or so and no doubt under Levein he'll get a new lease of life. Considering some of the shit we have in this squad, stating you think Gudjonsson should be the first to go is almost laughable. Blake, Dublin, Gemmill, Dabizas, Elliott and Benjamin are all a damn site crapper than Johannes.

I originally posted Gudjonsson because he hadn't feature in the team much and when he had he wasn't particularly impressive. The thought was we might get some much needed money for him where as you'll get nothing for Blake, Dublin, Gemmill, Dabizas, Elliott and Benjamin and not many would want them. Dublin currently reflects that problem as they are all on higher wages than t any other Championship side and no premier team is going to be interested = not likely to leave Obviously Gudjonsson has now come into the team and is starting to show and earn his corn, so it would be very unlikely for him to go.

Crazy
