davieG Posted 10 June 2006 Posted 10 June 2006 thinks we are going to walk through the group stage. Certainly Poland wont and even Germany, in spite of a 4-2 win could easily have been held to a draw. Two rather fortunate, if extremely spectacular goals shows what can happen with this ball. Any team will be capable of pulling goals like that out of the bag, just ask Robinson. The defence needs to be on it's toes and quickly close down any midfield activity and the likes of Gerrad and Lampard need to be raining shots on goal. But then I'm always a pessimist when it comes to football matches
Stevosevic Posted 10 June 2006 Posted 10 June 2006 We will definetely walk it. I think some England fans dont realise that we actually have one of the best teams in the world this year and we are probably one of three teams who will win it. Some of us are feeling that because we havnt done anything in recent history that this year will be the same, also that teams like Italy and Germany are still really good, but they are not. I am extremely confident that it will be the semi-finals minimum for us. Come on England.
Ultra Posted 10 June 2006 Posted 10 June 2006 We still have four weeks to go. There's no sense in peaking too early. I'd happily take a 1-0 this afternoon.

Daggers Posted 10 June 2006 Posted 10 June 2006 thinks we are going to walk through the group stage. Hmm - hardly likely after this awful 1-0 win!
