Boss Kevin Blackwell wants to re-sign the Real Madrid defender on a 12 month loan deal. Woodgate has struggled to make an impact since joining the Spanish giants in a £15million deal from Newcastle two seasons ago. Injuries hampered his progress and Woodgate has just spent the last six weeks at Leeds' training ground receiving medical treatment on groin and back problems. Leeds officials have sounded out Woodgate, 26, about returning to his former club for a spell to regain his fitness. The primary potential stumbling block remains the England star's £60,000 a week wages, with Leeds hoping Madrid will agree to fund a large part of the deal.

This smacks of lazy journalism, maybe if there was a hint of it on either the Real Madrid or Leeds Utd websites it might have some credibility but until then
