The People's Hero Posted 4 July 2006 Posted 4 July 2006 The fact is that Tiatto has contributed more to this club than at least half of the current squad. If fans can't bring themselves to trust the judgement of our best manager than MON then it doesn't reflect well on them.. He's contributed to our demise to what we are now. A mediocre championship side. What you say is opinion - you think RK is our best manager since MON. I'd say the jury is still out. After Levein, even you would have seemed to have been doing a good job.
The People's Hero Posted 4 July 2006 Posted 4 July 2006 How many bad games should Tiatto have had last season before we'd be allowed to criticise him? You'll never be allowed to criticise him! Just buy your overpriced shirt and other merchandise, sit quietly in your seat and clap when the players come out. Who's that not toeing the club line? JUDAS! Get out - your type isn't wanted here. They say this club is losing it's identity. You know what? They're fu cking right.

Actually I'm rather vocal in the War on Tiatto (TM Fez of the Muzz, July 2006) and as such I am not wanted at Leicester games apparently.
The People's Hero Posted 4 July 2006 Posted 4 July 2006 Certainly not without your 'I love Tiatto despite his string of poor performances, poor attitude and bizarre record of not playing in a winning Leicester side in ages' wristband on. It's a large wristband as I'm sure you can appreciate. Available for just £5.49 from the Leicester Megastore now. We're in it together!

The People's Hero Posted 4 July 2006 Posted 4 July 2006 I can almost hear Ultra on his own pointing at his wristband and trying to start a chant of 'Loyal Supporters'!

If fans can't bring themselves to trust the judgement of our best manager than MON then it doesn't reflect well on them.. You can't have it both ways Ultra, well you can but it smells of hypocrisy, you say all that about people's criticism of LCFC, Tiatto and Kelly and yet you are leading the ranks in your criticism of England and Sven, who is without question, based on results the best Manager since Alf Ramasey. How do you reconcile that?

Against top-ranking teams, Sven was found wanting.
Ultra Posted 4 July 2006 Posted 4 July 2006 I can almost hear Ultra on his own pointing at his wristband and trying to start a chant of 'Loyal Supporters'! Really? If you can hear me from Kent you have superhuman talents which are wasted on a mere message board..
The People's Hero Posted 4 July 2006 Posted 4 July 2006 Really? If you can hear me from Kent you have superhuman talents which are wasted on a mere message board.. Superhuman? Nah, I'm a semi-literate chav. Or are you back to your usual tricks of contradicting yourself? Back in yer box.
davieG Posted 4 July 2006 Author Posted 4 July 2006 Quite easily. Other managers didn't have figures massaged by results against the likes of Liechtenstein and Trinidad/Tobago. Against top-ranking teams, Sven was found wanting. So no other England Managers played friendlies or had to qualify against the likes of Liechtenstein and Trinidad/Tobago. Strange I remember it differently.
harry Posted 4 July 2006 Posted 4 July 2006 Just reading with interest everybody. I'm not sure I agree with the anti-Tiatto lobby inasmuch as the guy was one of the better from a pretty awful bunch in his first season and, no matter how dire he was in his occasional first team forays last year, he still needs a fresh start. I suspect we'll be seeking out Andy Welsh by Christmas, but there's no reason to suggest he can't perform like he did against Leeds towards the end of last season, when I thought he did ok. What I do disagree with, however, is the notion that it's wrong to criticise or voice your discontent. We all know the old cliche (we pay his wages / Tiatto earns as much in a month as we earn in a year / you pay your money etc. etc.) but I think Leicester fans have been neutered by the club in recent seasons. The stewarding is mostly poor, the management on occasions has reacted angrily to criticism. We need more fans to express their viewpoint because if you don't set high standards, then you achieve very little. The top clubs are mostly notorious for excessively critical fans, and back in the early 90s - when success first returned to the club - we had an extremely demanding set of fans. Mark McGhee (if I'm allowed to mention his name these days) actually encouraged fans to scream and yell at players who we thought weren't doing the business. So by all means carry on!
Ultra Posted 4 July 2006 Posted 4 July 2006 Call me old-school if you like, but I think players are more likely to play better if they're given a little bit of support and encouragement now and then. Explain how searching for a scapegoat five weeks before the season's even started is going to persuade would-be FOXES to come along to games. Tiatto had a poor season last year. But he wasn't exactly unique among the playing staff, was he? It's for the best if everyone starts with a clean slate, and isn't constantly judged on the basis of past glories/misdemeanours.

But he wasn't exactly unique among the playing staff, was he? 1 - I'll support Tiatto on the pitch but it doesn't mean I can't criticise the decision to re-sign him. 2 - Why the hell should we be trying to persuade people to come to games? They can make up their own minds. 3 - If Hamill, Hammond or Sylla had been re-signed if their contracts had been up this summer, I'd have said pretty much the same thing. As it happens, I think Tiatto was worse than all of that lot last season.
harry Posted 4 July 2006 Posted 4 July 2006 I agree we shouldn't necessarily be getting on Tiatto's back. I think he needs a bit of confidence and we should get behind him, but equally people do have the right to voice their discontent. I'd be disappointed if he gets booed first game, but I have no problem with people letting it be known that they don't like a managerial decision. People have seen Tiatto for two years now and if they don't like what they've seen then Rob Kelly should take these views on board. Sometimes City fans are a bit too quiet and obedient. That's not knocking your view that some people aren't being entirely fair towards Tiatto, I think you could be right, but I'm just saying that there isn't anything wrong with people who voice negative opinions.

You honestly feel that a few people disagreeing with the signing of Tiatto will affect whether they attend matches, While I'm here, as the topic starter I'd like to say that the majority of posters have entirely missed the point of the topic, which was that the Mercury and presumeably the club where trying to justify and reinforce his signing decision by feeding us bullshit about him turning down a premiership club to join us. I think that's pretty damned insulting to me as a fan. As I said : This can only mean one of only two things either we've offered him a better cash deal or we've guaranteed him a starting place - either which stinks. So the thread was less about Tiatto and more about the attempt to brainwash fans by the Mercury/Club

You're right about Tiatto not being "unique" in playing badly and the sooner we get those off the payroll the better too. No-one is talking about the odd game or two, perhaps even prolonged loss of form like a month. We are talking poor contribution or nil contribution for long periods of time. Kindness, consideration and understanding does have its limits...especially at a football club which is still as likely to go downwards as upwards with its present personnel.
harry Posted 4 July 2006 Posted 4 July 2006 That would be a bad thing, but you can't take a word Anderson says seriously. He's a puppet for the club and always has been. Plus 'interest' might entail a club contacting his agent, not necessarily anything more. Clearly Kelly has offered less money than last time around and clearly he's told Danny Tiatto that if he stays fit and regains his form he'll play thirty plus games for City. Tiatto probably wanted to stay at City anyway because he's been here for two years, and he possibly didn't like the prospect of playing five or six games in his last season as a pro elsewhere. I'm not sure it's as sinister a signing as it might appear. Especially if we take Anderson's word as gospel, which could lead people to believe that Tiatto is considered by at least one Premiership club to be a Premiership-standard first-teamer.

I wasn't suggesting it as sinister but as insulting my intelligence, if the manager wants to sign him that's his choice I don't need to be convinced by some pathetic manipulation of language to get me to be impressed by there being interest from a premier club. You're right though Blanderson is a patronising individual who believes all football supporters especially Leicester City ones are thickos, and I guess that was a key part of my original post.

A lot of people however think the decision to extend his stay here, was a poor one.
The People's Hero Posted 4 July 2006 Posted 4 July 2006 im sorry but im in the hate club Why are you apologising for your own opinion mate? Your opinion is your opinion. Don't let the 'real' supporters try to make you feel bad about it.
