Daggers Posted 16 July 2006 Posted 16 July 2006 The only program on the BBC worth the license money? I should bloomin' coco. It's not perfect, but it's the finest show on TV. When I grow up I want to be a Top Gear presenter ~ OK, due to my age it means I am going to have to believe in reincarnation but once I've done my stint as a snail, a slug and an American President I'm going to be racing caravans around quarries...
Parsons Posted 16 July 2006 Posted 16 July 2006 wow i dont really watch this but that caravan trip was class il have to start watching as i know jack about cars
Cat Burger Posted 16 July 2006 Posted 16 July 2006 It's very contrived, but one of the better things on the telly for sure!
Matt Posted 16 July 2006 Posted 16 July 2006 Best Program on telly. Couldn't stop laughing at the caravan trip...No Fires allowed on the campsite ah? They'll make up any excuse to crash/blow up/et on fire....fair play to them aswell!
stez Posted 28 July 2006 Posted 28 July 2006 ...and the toy program this week was ace too yes i saw that, i loved the fact he out bid all the saddo collectors and went home to play with the train set
Daggers Posted 28 July 2006 Author Posted 28 July 2006 yes i saw that, i loved the fact he out bid all the saddo collectors and went home to play with the train set My best bit was the recreation of the sinking of the Bismark. Absolute class
lookwhaticando Posted 28 July 2006 Posted 28 July 2006 The day Top Gear became entertainment-focussed, was the day telly was saved. I rarely watch American TV because it's mostly cack. I only watch stuff on a BBC franchise channel, which shows proper telly (British comedy, some drama and Top Gear) I show Top Gear clips to some of the locals, and they think it's Brilliant - even if they don't understand half of it.
Jay Posted 29 July 2006 Posted 29 July 2006 Not a big car fan but Top Gear is brilliant!!! I do however feel that to a certain extent it's a pretty much a staged affair but it's still hilarious!!
stez Posted 29 July 2006 Posted 29 July 2006 My best bit was the recreation of the sinking of the Bismark. Absolute class i missed the beginning so i think i missed that, i switched on when he was being sketched on etch-a-sketches. some excellent drawings were done on those!

I do however feel that to a certain extent it's a pretty much a staged affair but it's still hilarious!! the caravan think was sooo staged! unless it was the camera crews awning they burnt down..... the three of them work so well together, the first series (of this format) there was a fat ex-car salesman and he was crap, james may is a much better fit, in a pipe and slippers type way. the old top gear was so tired, i don't even bother watching 5th gear it's so dull!
