bigneville Posted 19 July 2006 Posted 19 July 2006 SkySports Is it just me or is this ridiculous? Man Utd seeded in top pot and not Chelsea. Or Liverpool? Winners only the season before last!
dandannieldanok Posted 19 July 2006 Posted 19 July 2006 Unbelievable, champions of the hardest league in the world and although i don't like them, they fully deserve to be a top seed. What is the reasoning behind it anyway?
Manwell Pablo Posted 19 July 2006 Posted 19 July 2006 Unbelievable, champions of the hardest league in the world and although i don't like them, they fully deserve to be a top seed. What is the reasoning behind it anyway? they lack any kind of European history? and have only got the semi finals once in the last five years? Liverpool is ridic though. EDIT: what you on about Nev? Liverpool are top seeds.

Jimmy Posted 19 July 2006 Posted 19 July 2006 chelsea have no history as said, united and liverpool have both won in the past decade and arsenal always make the quarters at least, chelsea walk out thinking they have a right to win as they win easily in the league, they havent learned what it takes in europe yet, maybe this will be their year but i hope not
Daggers Posted 20 July 2006 Posted 20 July 2006 Is it just me or is this ridiculous? Man Utd seeded in top pot and not Chelsea. Before last season, what have Chelsea won? League Champions: 1954/1955 (1) FA Cup Winners: 1970 (1) League Cup Winners: 1965 (1) Charity Shield Winners: 1955 (1) European Cup Winners Cup Winners: 1971 (1) Hardly the form that gets you seeded top. And here's to hoping they don't even achieve last seasons tasks a second time ~ I hate clubs that buy success
Ultra Posted 20 July 2006 Posted 20 July 2006 There are clubs in the competition with a far more impressive record in Europe than Chelsea. Remember, before Abramovitch they regularly only qualified for the UEFA Cup, where they'd depart in the 1st round to Israeli/Swiss/Norwegian minnows!
Benji Posted 20 July 2006 Posted 20 July 2006 Is it done on coefficients? Including what country you come from etc? What with England not winning much recently doesn't that effect it as well? Obviously including the fact that Chelsea have only recently become successful.
