Samu Posted 21 November 2004 Posted 21 November 2004 I'm sure there's already been a thread on this before but I've been reading reports about his displays for Everton and he's getting some great praise. He seems to be a constant threat for them and he's bagging some goals too. He must be one of the main reasons why Everton are doing so well this season. It really is a shame that he didn't stay on this season for us, if he had Im positive he would have already scored more than Dublin, Connoly and Scowcroft (probably more than them put together). Good for him, I had my doubts when we signed him but he was fantastic for us last season. I wish him all the best!
Steven Posted 21 November 2004 Posted 21 November 2004 Agreed. We knew how good he was last season. Whatever happened last season is no reflection on him, Ferdinand or Dickov (La Manga notwithstanding).
Samu Posted 21 November 2004 Author Posted 21 November 2004 Thats very true, I mean attack wise last season we were awesome. Our 3 strikers contributed lots of goals and we were just let down by the defence and no one to back up Muzzy really. It just shows that Dickov and Bent are quality premiership performers as Dickov is playing well at Blackburn.
Anish Posted 21 November 2004 Posted 21 November 2004 I have a lot of respect for Bent - he has so much skill and he was great for us last season. I don't blame him for wanting to stay in the Premiership, he is definitely too good for any Championship club. The only problem that he had was sometimes he was a bit lazy, but then again he could afford to be cos he was a flair player. And I think that side of his game will be curbed under Moyes.
Mark Posted 21 November 2004 Posted 21 November 2004 He's the best striker we've had in years. I knew he could go to the top and Everton is a good starting point
Ash Posted 21 November 2004 Posted 21 November 2004 Im happy for Bent , He severed his time at Leicester well
Scow Posted 22 November 2004 Posted 22 November 2004 I think it was a common myth that he was lazy. He seemed very committed to me in all the games I saw him play. I'm glad he's doing well, he deserve's it.
Ric Flair Posted 23 November 2004 Posted 23 November 2004 Bent is a very good player and the way he plays football it doesn't surprise me that he's doing extremely well again this season. Shame we didn't get him permanently, but i'm thankful for the 10 goals he gave us last season. It pains me to think of a Dickov/Bent partnership this season. Although I think if that was our partnership we'd still have Micky Mouse as manager.
Oli Posted 23 November 2004 Posted 23 November 2004 I do like Bent and did like him when he had his time at Leicester, but I think he was far too lazy in alot of games he played for us, and didn't seem commited. It could be that he was only on loan. But I am happy too see him doing well.

Those that say he is lazy listen too much to Ipswich fans.
Guest Daniel Posted 23 November 2004 Posted 23 November 2004 Bent was lazy some of the time when he played for us. He did not give 100% every game, and thats what i like from a striker.

Just because you have your views it doesn't mean you are right.
