Here goes with what I know. I'm assuming you've got a background image with at least one layer on it. If you have you need to open the layer tool. To do this go to View on the toolbar at the top and select Toolbars from the drop down, mines at the bottom of the list. Clicking on toolbars will give you the option to select the LAYER TOOLBAR. This should bring up a seperate little Layer Palette. On the left is the number layers and on the right is were you change the attributes. Select the layer you want to change on the left and change the attributes by sliding the bar on the right. You can also select the attribute you want to change by clicking on the arrow to the right of the attribute description, my defaults to normal. Others include Color, saturation etc. Let me know if that helps or you require any clarification. Best of Luck
