I stayed in Sousse 4 years ago.

Quite nice, really hot and dry. You get hasssled to buy things by the locals along every street though.

From memory you can't buy alcohol outside of the hotels and possibly supermarkets) cos it's a muslim country so prepare for a dry new year.

You can ride camels there, but I'd take a cushion cos they ain't the smoothest of rides on the old posterior!

I was tempted this summer until I heard about the alcohol situation :(

If you stay in a top hotel with a nightclub and good entertainment it may still be worth it as most are AI so you won't need to go out for a beer!

Depends what you want. If its a crash out week then great and really cheap...and hot. Stayed in Port El-Kantanuoi?? and nice hotels on the beach. No problem with beers in the hotels although very weak. Some interesting cultural visits around the Medinas but you do get a lot of hassle - although I was with 24 girls - don't ask!

If you're taking your wife/girlfriend keep an eye on her. The locals will hassle her for whatever she wears cos of the culture difference.

My sister loved it (but then she's Italian!). And they didn't hit on her as she was there on her honeymoon.

English friends liked the resort but hated everything outside the resort (like pushy people wanting tips all the time etc).

Bet it's stinking hot.

I hope it is hot - I'm going there a week on Saturday (2th Nov) for 8 days - woohoo!

I will miss 2 Fosse games though, and Sheff Weds at home (so if you wanna borrow my season tickets you're more than welcome).

Stayed there too. Was a bit of a hole tbh. I'm going back 10 years though.
