eaststandtom Posted 13 October 2006 Posted 13 October 2006 In my opinion, I believe that Gareth Williams and Stephen Hughes must play together for the City. The reasons for this is that the team looks a far more attacking proposition than otherwise. I know both players have their critics. I for one can’t deny that I feel frustration at some of their performances at times but I feel that, being the two most ‘natural’ footballers at the club, their talents are utilised by playing together. This has a knock on effect for the rest of the team. Players such as Huim and Fryatt begin to buzz around as they have players (Hughes and Williams) who can play one two’s and create play through the middle and link up play with the attack. This is something we have been desperately missing all season as the manager mystifyingly has chosen to go with the ‘experience’ of Andy Johnson, Danny Tiatto and ‘League hardened’ Josh Low. This has meant the likes of Wesolowski, Hughes and Williams (who has suffered injuries this season to be fair) have not featured when it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to work out that they are an infinitely more prosperous trio to play in midfield than those older pro’s. I could ramble on for hours about our ‘experienced’ players and compose in depth seminars about Danny Tiatto’s ability on a football pitch but that is beside’s the point I am trying to make. The point is Hughes and Williams have the potential to create more for our strikers who in turn can reap the benefits. At the end of last season City genuinely looked like an attacking force so why has the manager changed something he actually instigated? The midfield of Maybury, Williams, Wesolowski (in for Joey) and Hughes was as a unit working last year and contributed to the turnaround in fortunes. Why the drastic change? An alternative this season could be Hughes, Williams, Wesolowski and Porter not Low, Johnson, Hughes and Tiatto. It is an insult to people paying £25 to watch these guys play for our team but the club are doing their best to lower the fans expectations of Leicester City. Rumours on the message boards are we are about to resign Andy Welsh on loan or maybe even Carl Asaba!! Maybe Ashley Ward, Dion Dublin could come back or again or we could get Dele Adebola to help us ‘grind’ out some results with all our other ‘experienced’ players. Bring back Shipman!!!
Ric Flair Posted 13 October 2006 Posted 13 October 2006 Can you edit that so it makes sense? The midfield of Hughes, Williams, Wesolowski and Porter is about as good as we're going to get from the current bunch. So you do make a good point somewhere amongst that rattle.

Master Fox Posted 13 October 2006 Posted 13 October 2006 Hughes should not play. He is a lightweight. Can't handle his beer eh?
Cheese Me Posted 13 October 2006 Posted 13 October 2006 Surely Williams and Weso should be the midfield. Williams for his slick passing and creativity and Weso to cover him when he goes missing.
Swedging Posted 13 October 2006 Posted 13 October 2006 . Does anybody know what the fear of cats is called? pussywhipia
eaststandtom Posted 13 October 2006 Author Posted 13 October 2006 and you like cats my cat is a bad ass!!! just look at the smug 'dont mess' look on her face!!!
eaststandtom Posted 13 October 2006 Author Posted 13 October 2006 Hopefull there wont be a debate about them in January because Mandaric will have got rid of them and replaced with TRUE quality like joey Mandaric?? he hasnt even put an offer in for the club. i have as much chance of putting in an offer for the club as him at the moment. even if the guy came here he wouldnt chuck millions at it. he might stick in 3-4 million at first to stabilise everything. if he comes here i guarantee people will be moaning if he hasnt spent much within 6 months
Sods Posted 13 October 2006 Posted 13 October 2006 my cat is a bad ass!!! just look at the smug 'dont mess' look on her face!!! I hate cats. I think we should play weso to be honest with willams in middle

I don't want to waste more words giving chapter and verse as to why Hughes shouldn't be near our side, much less on the right. But the sooner he's out the better. I've waited around 35 games now to see the gifted player he's supposed to be and I've waited in vain. He's managed literally a handful of goals, precious few assists and generally he's been an endless disappointment. He's adept mind, I'll give him that. Adept at just doing enough and at passing the buck to someone else.

Thracian Posted 13 October 2006 Posted 13 October 2006 I thought for a minute you were describing Williams It's a job to catch sight of Williams at all these days
cisono Posted 13 October 2006 Posted 13 October 2006 I thought this thread was about Williams and Hughes playing with each other
lcfc_jme Posted 13 October 2006 Posted 13 October 2006 I thought this thread was about Williams and Hughes playing with each other Only you and a couple of the other disgustinghappy posters on here could have though such a rude thing!! I wouldn't dare play Hughes and Williams in the same midfield, especially if Weso is fit. Recipe for disaster one thinks
SydneyFC Posted 14 October 2006 Posted 14 October 2006 Wesolowski in wheelchair > Hughes. Hughes just looks so lazy on the field.
