Quick question:-

When ordering from say Play.com and the item is due for release say this Friday (pre-order), does that mean it ships on Friday (likely to get it next week) or that i will receive it on Friday?

I ask because i need to get a Xbox game for my cousin and cant be bothered to even go to an actual shop for the spoilt s***

I ordered Final Fantasy XII about a year ago now, it was then supposed to have been released earlier this year. Play.com have had the money for it and now deny having taken it despite me SHOWING them evidence they have taken it. Apparently that reference number does not exist.

Wa nkers.

Not letting this one drop.

Probably best not to buy in advance then...:whistle:

No they ship before the release date. The problem with play is it in the the channel islands and things take longer to get here use Amazon.

I have ordered a new PS2 game that is released on friday. The order says they will post it Thursday for receipt on Friday. In the past I have received pre ordered games early.

Tell them you'll take it to the Small Claims court.

That worked for my brother.

He actually took his case against his former landlord (who would not return his deposit back for no particular reason) there. It worked and pretty quickly too.

But, as you say, just mentioning it may well work with an established company...

The system has been changed so it works quicker, and you don't need to spend fees for solicitors etc. Although I would always advocate taking proper legal advice, especially once I have qualified.

I have stopped using Amazon after i used the express delivery (for an important birthday present!) and instead of the guarented 1pm next day - it came four days later. I complained and they said they would refund the delivery cost (7.99 for express delivery - i think) and the B****** never did. I have e-mailed them since and just get the standard, we will reply to this query / or problem closed BS!

That is very bad of them! :(

I avoid the express delivery option as much as possible,

but did select it once and the small item arrived as promised.

If you order from www.gameplay.co.uk they ship it on the Wednesday two days before release date, so if you pay for 1st class post rather than free 2nd class you get it on the Thursday.

cd-wow.com are faultless.

Seriously. Really good.

I sometimes have discount codes for them. Ask me if when you plan to use them anyway...

The day before ;)

I usually get them the day before when I've ordered something online. Which is good because you can show off that you have something before others.

:P

And that usually impresses the under 15s :whistle::P

(sorry Libertine, nothing personal  )
