lookwhaticando Posted 6 November 2006 Posted 6 November 2006 BBC 606 discussion - Coventry Rubbish I have just endured the first half of the Coventry v Stoke match on Sky and I have witnessed one of the most inept displays I have ever seen from a Coventry side. I believe Micky Adams has lost the dressing room. They can't even do the basics; there passing was crap; Stern John cannot play alone up front, he hasn't the pace; the marking from set plays was poor; there was no creativity; we have now lost 8 games this season and are the divisions lowest scorers. I am not advocating a change in the Manager yet because there are no alternatives. Micky Adams needs to re-think his strategy because the season is as good as over. Last season after there apalling away form he claimed he new the cause. Clearly not. Micky Adams defends the showing against 10 man Stoke by saying "That wasn't a Micky Adams team out there..." So cheer up, lads, Coventry's season is over.
Mark Posted 6 November 2006 Posted 6 November 2006 He needs to rethink his transfer policy, but as we know he's too stubborn to change from bringing in his experienced pro's. I'd rather be below them in the table as we are now than have a horrible Micky Adams aging team that they've got, at least we've got players who have some potential to take us places.

Like Gareth McAuley who, at almost 27, is a spring chicken in Mickeh's world, and Iain Hume who's not even been born yet.

Could'nt agree more. You look at Coventry's team and think what players are going to make them progress in future years? Kevin Kyle FFS!? EEE OOR!
Maybes Posted 7 November 2006 Posted 7 November 2006 He has done an ok job at coventry. The fans should remember that a few seasons ago they were battling against relegation.
SystonFox Posted 7 November 2006 Posted 7 November 2006 He has done an ok job at coventry. The fans should remember that a few seasons ago they were battling against relegation. i think they are only improving now thanks to the "operation premiership" they have going over 3 years. although i can't see them back in the prem any time soon, not with the current squad anyway. a complete revamp might help. i laughed so hard though when there 95th minute "equaliser" was disallowed. haha.
Manwell Pablo Posted 7 November 2006 Posted 7 November 2006 He has done an ok job at coventry. The fans should remember that a few seasons ago they were battling against relegation. He's been given a fair wad, the club has a three year promotion plan and it's up to him to deliver, if he doesn't Cov will be left pottering around this league for another 10 years and Adams will be out of a job.
Hullfox Posted 7 November 2006 Posted 7 November 2006 The bloke on 606 was obviously the Coventry Thrach.

No - more experience and more defenders....that's what Coventry need. Skill can come later!
Guest Posted 7 November 2006 Posted 7 November 2006 Re the comment on passing - to be fair, it was foggy, and Stoke were struggling too from what I saw.

Guest Posted 7 November 2006 Posted 7 November 2006 you saw something? i was in the pub watching some of it, soon gave up after it wasnt worth looking at a white screen If you thought that was bad, you should have been at Brighton during the promotion season!
gatesheadfox Posted 7 November 2006 Posted 7 November 2006 If you thought that was bad, you should have been at Brighton during the promotion season! i can't remember my exact excuse for not going to that game but i can't say i was too disapointed after attempting to watch the highlights
Ultra Posted 8 November 2006 Posted 8 November 2006 Cov fans obviously didn't. There must have been 200 there at most!
Fez of Mahrez Posted 8 November 2006 Posted 8 November 2006 If you thought that was bad, you should have been at Brighton during the promotion season! Or Blackburn at home in 97/98 (I think). Couldn't see a bloody thing.
Guest Posted 8 November 2006 Posted 8 November 2006 Or Blackburn at home in 97/98 (I think). Couldn't see a bloody thing. It was 1996, my uncle had come back from Australia for my nana's funeral, and it was the only game he could get to! Oops!
