Was it just me having problems understanding him in this interview? :P

:ermm: Nah I don't think it was :P I knew what topic he was talking about because of the interview questions, but I didn't understand much of his responses :o:S

Whatever he was doing, it made him difficult to understand. Much like some of the tactics we employ and some of the decisions our players choose to make

Yes exactly like that :P Switching off and not concentrating when the game is nearing an end is also something which really confuses me as well :S:blink:

Our centre-backs are fine generally, except for their passing. Our trouble defensively is that having two non-passing centre-backs and two non-attacking full-backs means we've no natural impetus going forward when we gain possession in defence.

Couple that with two essentially defensive central midfielders an we are simply bound not to flow as a team.

Our tactics from the start of this match were cautious and, for a home team, we predictably created very little.

That encourages the opposition who are not going to be afraid to commit extra men forward, forcing us to defend by definition.

Six draws in 10 matches tells the story of our failure to force our own game on the opposition and the perpetual defensive overload of our team makes that inevitable. We had the personnel to win but we also retained the weaknesses to encouage the opposition.

I wonder what the "Fryatt must return" brigade will have to say because he didn't sound half as demanding for the opposition as Hammond.

Stearman is not a midfielder - that sounded clear by his continually taking too many touches on the ball and his disappearing from despatches for too long. Hughes disappeared too in the second half and that left us very vulnerable becausse we weren't ever truly creative in the first place.

It was another case for finishing 4-3-3 to me with Hammond, Hume, Welsh up front and Maybury, Porter, Hughes in midfield, with Porter directing operations as the one player we have who's a specialist midfielder and who rarely takes more time on the ball than necessary. These players would have retained the ball far better under pressure. Stearman would have returned to full-back.

they were not fine today in fact they were next to useless. both goals came from missed headers.mcarthy's positional play and tackling/heading was bad today and his passing is terrible. kisnorbo was equally inept and neither looked comfortable all afternoon.

fryatt was very innefective today and looks a pale shadow of last season's player. desperately slow at times.

Hmm interesting analysis as usual

I would agree with you that Stearman was playing in the wrong position and Hughes went missing for long whiles.

I am also starting to think that you should get a position as tactical adviser at LCFC :)

Sounds about right...

Periods of suspension are as follows:

5 yellow cards - suspended for one match if accumulated before the last day of February (otherwise a warning)

10 yellow cards - suspended for two matches if accumulated before the second Sunday in April (otherwise a severe warning)

15 yellow cards - suspended for three matches

20 yellow cards (and every multiple of five thereafter) - punishment decided by disciplinary hearing

Red card for two yellow cards - suspended for one match

Red card for denying a goalscoring opportunity - suspended for one match

Red card for offensive language or gestures - suspended for two matches

Red card for violent conduct or serious foul play - suspended for three matches

Suspensions for red cards are increased by one game for each red card received earlier in the season.

Hmm didn't realise that red card suspensions depended on reason

Looks like one day off for Paddy... (for now  ) then! :P

Did you not wonder why Kisnorbo's most recent bans have been 3 games a piece (after Cov last season and Hereford this season) - yet McAuley's red only warranted a one game ban? ;)

Yeah Big Mac has got a day off, and so has 2 weeks to rest his face and cool his temper before a heated, angry, physical clash with the sheep at Pride Park.

I reckon he'll struggle to return tbh, McAuley and Kisnorbo look solid together, and we may even keep a clean sheet next week (:rolleyes: ) :P

I thought we where rubbish today. Are defending at times was appalling, however argyle wern't much better than us.

Not really. Perhaps I thought they just didn't like Kisnorbo (or he is Aussie or something) :P

I actually thought Maybury got forward quite a bit today at least in the first half and played some nice little triangles with Momo and Hughes. As for Welsh I think his performance today, for someone with at least some football ability must be one of the worst I've seen for a long time.
