davieG Posted 22 December 2004 Posted 22 December 2004 Guy on FoxFanzine is concerned about Dawson As in: Anybuckinbody know how long he has left on his buckin contract. Beacuse word here is that Manchester buckin City have been having a quiet word in his shell like. And his mate WIllo buckin Flood plays for them. Anyone any ideas? (NB his language not mine)
Mark Posted 22 December 2004 Posted 22 December 2004 Serve's us right if he does go, and i'll never forgive Levein for letting him go. So he best sort it out. Has he turned professional? I would have thought he has, afterall Scott "buckin" Gemmill is professional

A few months ago it was 'I'll never forgive micky if he doesn't play such and such', now a few weeks in you won't forgive Levein if he bucking well lets Dawson leave! Dawson is clearly in his plans...just not the immediate ones! Bucking hell!
Guest Daniel Posted 22 December 2004 Posted 22 December 2004 Its comments like this Petrescu makes to wind everyone up and he's the first to jump down my throat when i make a dodgy comment.

It's not clear at all, until i've seen it then i won't believe it. Adams said similar things, don't you remember?

I never used to go to see reserve fixtures, but having seen him play for the reserves on one occassion I now return quite often just to check that I wasn't seeing things. I honestly do believe he will get a chance, so hang in there. Just because one person reports something on a forum, it doesn't make it true. Levein has mentioned only Dawson, Stearman and one other for praise...that means he finds these to be our most promising talent for the future. Given that he is keen to introduce youth he is unlikely to get rid of any of the most promising (unless they command a large fee). He also suggested that they would get a chance at some stage, but not until everone within the team was comfortable with their roles. When he has a chance to get some stability going, he can tinker, and introduce the younger players, so that if they do make a mistake, there are comfortable players around them to pick up the pieces. Also, please stop judging people by Micky Adams' standards. Just because he made some mistakes, it doesn't mean that Craig Levein is going to repeat them. Be careful not to judge people for the sins of their predecessor. Chin up Petrescu, it can't rain everyday
Sparky Posted 22 December 2004 Posted 22 December 2004 petrescu if it was up to u the average age of the side would be 13 , for bucks sake stop whining

emmalcfc Posted 22 December 2004 Posted 22 December 2004 Yeah I'd like the yougsters to be given a chance, seems as we have an underperforming side and it seems like we have nothing to loose if we do that. But say Levein puts some youngsters in, in the next few games. They then are involved in a team that loose the matches, which are important for us to pull in the points. Not only is that going to harm their confidence, its also going to put us in a position further away from play-off places. Therefore i agree with what Levein said about giving them a chance, when we are in a comfortable position in the league, and when the team are performing. We can therefore afford to throw in some youngsters. Well anyway the Blackpool game is coming up soon, so youngsters are bound to be in that team. So I wouldn't worry, because if they perform well in that, then they might be given a chance.
Jonbluefox9 Posted 23 December 2004 Posted 23 December 2004 Well anyway the Blackpool game is coming up soon, so youngsters are bound to be in that team. I don't think it's definite that youngsters will be in the squad for the Blackpool game. Levein wants to go through and he won't underestimate Blackpool so don't be surprised if the team's similar to his usual one.

Ric Flair Posted 23 December 2004 Posted 23 December 2004 Dawson is 19 soon so I imagine he's on a 3 year scholarship or a professional contract, either way he's signed to Leicester and if Man City or any other northern monkeys come sniffing they'll have to pay money so they'll feck off. If his contract is up soon, Levein isn't stupid he'll sit Dawson down and tie the beast up for a few years (literally if he won't sign!) Dawson has been here for quite a few years and is settled, if Levein thinks so highly of him as he has said in the article then he'll offer him a decent wage and inform him of his plans for the lad. He'll have more chance getting in this team than he will in Man City's! We're all going by what Adams did with the youngsters not what Levein will be doing. Dawson is here to stay.
Jonbluefox9 Posted 23 December 2004 Posted 23 December 2004 I don't know if any of you here read 442 the football magazine but there was a very good article in this months edition about football academies in England. It said how much clubs sometimes pay for youngsters. west Ham paid £1.69million to Charlton for Defoe and Man U have had to pay Wolves £1.5million each for two 14 year olds. It even says that £30K has been spent on a 9 year old by Birmingham.

We're all going by what Adams did with the youngsters not what Levein will be doing. 48961 I can't agree with that. During the last few months Man City have been giving 3-4 of their younger players chances to impress, and they have done. Flood, Wright-Phillips, Jordan...
Jonbluefox9 Posted 23 December 2004 Posted 23 December 2004 Wright-Phillips has been a regular for a while now.
Macca4lcfc Posted 23 December 2004 Posted 23 December 2004 Wright-Phillips has been a regular for a while now. 49010 both the wright phillips' that is! bradley looks like a good prospect aswell! cant believe forest released them both because they 'werent good enough' :w00t:

MON Posted 25 December 2004 Posted 25 December 2004 Is Dawson a defensive midifelder or more attacking. Because if hes a defensive he would be great in a 3-5-2. With Dawson DM, and Joey/Nalis alongside Williams. I think CL should give Williams more of a chance. He's better then Gemmil
Little Nicky Posted 25 December 2004 Posted 25 December 2004 It would be brilliant to see the number 28 shirt on that field tomorrow(that's Dawson btw )! I think it could be a possibility seeing as though rotherham aren't gonna be the best in the world, even though they'll push us!
