Brad_SWFC Posted 2 December 2006 Posted 2 December 2006 I unfortunatley couldn't make it down to Leicester today for the game. However, i would like to know a view of our team from the game (the 2 games). What was we like, who was our best player? and predictions to where we will finish? etc... Any reply is much appreciated.
potter3 Posted 2 December 2006 Posted 2 December 2006 You weren't as good as last time (at your ground), and you scored three wonder goals and a dodgy penalty, and your keeper saved you at least twice.
Simi Posted 2 December 2006 Posted 2 December 2006 "Hats off to them, they (and the team) kept us quiet for the whole game" That was a comment made in another topic Your team scored three cracking goals and in my view Chris Brunt or Marcus Tudgay looked your best players today.
Brad_SWFC Posted 2 December 2006 Author Posted 2 December 2006 Cheers so far.. Any chance of an opinion of where we will finish this season? I am thinking safe Midtable position around 12th to 15th

Manwell Pablo Posted 2 December 2006 Posted 2 December 2006 Glenn Whelan scored the best goal I have seen for a long time, a absloute screamer to cap off a cracking performace from him as a whole. Bougherra and Brunt played well. Andrews wasn't to bad considering he's shite as well.
Joe. Posted 2 December 2006 Posted 2 December 2006 The scoreline definitely flattered you but you do have some very good players in your team as showed by the cracking goals scored. I reckon around 10th you'll finish.

You came, you saw (well you didn't do either of those) and you conquored. Difficult to judge your lot as we are so abject. Still 4-1 away from home at a canter should not be sniffed at, you'll be mid table come May.

Brad_SWFC Posted 2 December 2006 Author Posted 2 December 2006 As high as tenth? well i certainly hope so, but i don't think we will... we have a decent first 16 but after that we don't have enough quality in the depth of our squad. A few injuries and results could soon change.
DB11 Posted 2 December 2006 Posted 2 December 2006 Well one thing is for sure, the scoreline didn't reflect the play. Leicester were the better side for majority periods but when Sheffield had the ball they used it, thus the ridiculously inaccurate reflection of the game scoreline
jumbo mills Posted 2 December 2006 Posted 2 December 2006 brian laws maybe the man, he seems to have the rub of the green
dandannieldanok Posted 2 December 2006 Posted 2 December 2006 As high as tenth? well i certainly hope so, but i don't think we will... we have a decent first 16 but after that we don't have enough quality in the depth of our squad. A few injuries and results could soon change. You should aim for that at least. You have already shown under Brian Laws that you can compete with the best teams in the division (Cardiff, West Brom) and that you can despatch the lesser teams in the division too (Leicester).
Wils Posted 2 December 2006 Posted 2 December 2006 Youll do alright this year, cant see you pushing for playoffs but as a few people have said mid table is about right. You have some decent players.
Mort Posted 2 December 2006 Posted 2 December 2006 There have been a few Wednesday fans who've popped up now and again and they've always been pretty decent, then again so are the ones i know "in the real world"... marked diffrence from the likes of Derby and Plymouth As for the Owls this season... hmmm... Laws is an excellent manager, you dont have much in the way of resources (but that neednt be a problem) somwhere between 16-12 IMHO, next season could be a chance for you to do somthing special, but only if you beef up a little.
lildave3 Posted 2 December 2006 Posted 2 December 2006 Yeah you'll do alright this year, defo top half.
