My top 3 birds. 1) Osprey 2) Mallard 3) Rook. We're watching it whilst we're doing work. Well. Meant to be doing work. I didn't realise how funkaliciously weird birds were.
The People's Hero Posted 10 December 2006 Author Posted 10 December 2006 So you'll know what I'm talking about when I say... This is honestly the BEST can opener I have EVER used. The osprey picking up that fish and then manipulating it in to an aerodynamic position to fly away was superb. Brilliant filming IMO.

You'll need one when your old and arthritic! Also, the Albatross landing is genius.
The People's Hero Posted 10 December 2006 Author Posted 10 December 2006 I really enjoyed the albatross landing thing! Haha!

The People's Hero Posted 10 December 2006 Author Posted 10 December 2006 I remember watching a similar 6 hour stint of nature programmes on a flight to Hong Kong almost a year ago. It was about spiders. Absolutely brilliant. I might get some dvds like this for Christmas... in fact, that's what I'm going to ask for.

Also, Laura's decided she's bored with the birds now, but we've lost the remote. Hence our continued watching. Also. What the hell was that? The random guy wanting to ban Turkey?

Those who have been watching since the start will notice that the current one is actually the second episode they played, repeated. I feel a bit cheated to be honest!

I feel a bit cheated to be honest! That's outrageous! However, having not seen it since the start, I was impressed by the crazy humming bird who tries to kill itself flying over the Gulf of Mexico.
The People's Hero Posted 18 December 2006 Author Posted 18 December 2006 I've bought a few books today. I'm actually fascinated by birds. I'm so sad. To think I'm only 23.
lookwhaticando Posted 18 December 2006 Posted 18 December 2006 I suppose a duck's out of the question?
The People's Hero Posted 18 December 2006 Author Posted 18 December 2006 I suppose a duck's out of the question? Geraint Jones is your man.

Guest Posted 18 December 2006 Posted 18 December 2006 I was thinking of tearing him limb from limb, but there's a slight problem with my plan.

Guest Posted 18 December 2006 Posted 18 December 2006 You're a tube station and therefore can't? We are all tube stations on the journey that is life.Where the bloody hell did that come from?
The People's Hero Posted 18 December 2006 Author Posted 18 December 2006 We are all tube stations on the journey that is life. I'm the circle line. There is an air of inevitability about my life. I represent the ongoing cycle of life.
MC Prussian Posted 19 December 2006 Posted 19 December 2006 "Life Of Birds" When I first read this title, I thought TPH would be going on with his insightful examination of the female species in general... But I'm sure he'll grace us with that later on.
The People's Hero Posted 19 December 2006 Author Posted 19 December 2006 Ahhhhhhhh the Blue Jay in some snow....
