Tiatto

Recommended Posts

Why do we all dislike him? He seems to assist a lot of goals. He has pace, experience, strength.. a bad temper. I think that he is important to the team. He comes up with the odd goal now and again. Maybe RK doesn't play him in the position he's best in, but I think he will always gives it his best. Unless we have a better set-piece taker, where would our goals have came from if we didn't play him against Ipswich, Leeds, etc? :scarf:

I think Tiatto isnt having a bad season.IMO hes a better player in the centre of midfeild rather than the wing, hes more of a battler than a winger. But he really isnt what we need in our midfeild because its an important area and it needs to be filled by someone who can create and be a threat to other teams a midfeilder that scores 10 goals a season, like Muzzy used to.

I don't really understand the question about liking or disliking Tiatto.

Does "disliked" mean he shouldn't be in the team and "liked" mean he should because it isn't as simple as that.

Danny Tiatto is a fairly good footballer. Valuable because he's left-sided, because he chases down well, because he's aggressive, competitive and packs a mean free kick if it's not repeated too often.

The downside is he's essentially part time because he either gets booked or injured. He's impulsive and inclined to give away unnecessary free kicks in dangerous areas, he's an indifferent passer in open play, not especially creative for a midfielder and not a natural marksman.

In other words pretty average but usefully left footed.

So should he be in the team because, if you analyse Stephen Hughes, you come up with the same some of "average" conclusion?. Slightly diferent strengths and weaknesses but basically both are harrassing players, people who restrict the opposition's opportunities rather than creating much for our team.

And the point is you can keep a balanced team by playing one of them but not both. What you can't do with any sense is play Tiatto then, because you want to play Williams, move Hughes somewhere he doesn't belong. Nor can you sensibly play two harrassing midfielders because they won't produce enough supply to the attackers and because the goal threat will be limited..

Exactly the same applies to Maybury. Perfectly reasonable right-back but it's bloody insulting to play him in midfield and leave a specialist midfielder out. Why? Very little creativity and goal threat. The only purpose is stiffling the opposition.

I mention this because we do such things all the time. And it is the unbalanced nature of our teams as a result which causes so many of our problems and limitations.

If we haven't got a player for a certain position then the answer is to change the system, not to bodge the weak position with an unsuitable stand in. But basically, different areas of the team have to be relied on so the team as a unit can move forward and backwards as a unit and in harmony.

Once you start patching weak areas with unsuitable players the team stops running smoothly and you have a weakness that can be exploited and which will at the very least limit your own efficiency.

He's predictable, past it, aptly described as the one legged pirate. My biggest gripe is not with Tiatto but with RK begging him to sign a new contract when he'd been piss poor. Admittedly his contribution is greater in midfield but is just not good enough to warrant a being an LCFC player.

Having said all that, RK having signed Low, Johnson as well as Tiatto has made Tiatto the best of a very bad lot.

I have mixed feelings about him.

Gives the ball away too often and gets his usual stupid bookings, giving silly free kicks away in dangerous positions.

However some games he can be quite positive and he can be an asset to the team.

At the moment I wouldn't put him in the first team but he is vert close to being there.

I thought he was absoloute trash on Saturday.

He gave the ball away every single time he tried to make a simple pass. Looked totally off the pace

I like Ti a ti a to because he provides much needed bite in the midfield, when wesso is injured.

on sat he gave away possesion too cheaply, but was alwas in the thick of the action when a challenge was needed.

This season he seem to be a bit calmer than last when he was a headless chicken that was why he was not too popular last year, but at the mo he is generally liked by most for commitment
