dandannieldanok Posted 5 January 2007 Posted 5 January 2007 Just thought I'd point out that tomorrow's referee is Mark Clattenburg. For all those who don't know he was the one who gave Villa two extremely dodgy penalties against us in the Carling Cup.

Sparky Posted 5 January 2007 Posted 5 January 2007 overall i think he is 1 of the better prem refs . he was awful in the villa match so maybe he owes us 1
Lichfieldfox. Posted 5 January 2007 Posted 5 January 2007 He's a good ref who had a shit game for the Villa match. He reffed vs Ipswich last season and was outstanding. I was very disapointed with his performo at Villa so lets hope he levels it up.
john_lcfc Posted 5 January 2007 Posted 5 January 2007 overall i think he is 1 of the better prem refs . he was awful in the villa match so maybe he owes us 1 i agree clattenburg is a very good ref.why is he refereeing leicester v fulham?? if im right the villa game was his 1st game back after injury so he may have been a bit rusty
lildave3 Posted 5 January 2007 Posted 5 January 2007 Imo he is one of the best in the premiership, just had a shocker against Villa.
RowlattsFox Posted 5 January 2007 Posted 5 January 2007 wonder how many will be saying he is good tomorrow

For all those who don't know he was the one who gave Villa two extremely dodgy penalties against us in the Carling Cup. That's ok, he should hopefully make ammends for it tomorrow then!
Southern Fox Home Posted 5 January 2007 Posted 5 January 2007 Just thought I'd point out that tomorrow's referee is Mark Clattenburg. For all those who don't know he was the one who gave Villa two extremely dodgy penalties against us in the Carling Cup. In reflection and watching back the highlights of the game, although soft I actually think that Clattenburg got the penalty decisions correct. We werent disciplined or cute enough defending that day. If theres a tug back or push despite how small you are asking for trouble. And we got it
Guest Posted 5 January 2007 Posted 5 January 2007 Just once, I'd like to see one of our players awarded a penalty whenever someone tugs or nudges him.
The Stig Posted 5 January 2007 Posted 5 January 2007 I agree with what everyone is saying, form what i've seen he seems a decent ref, and all refs no matter who you are ref a lower game once in a while, he had a bad game when we played villa, saying that so do a lot of refs at the walkers, anyhow hope he does well, more for our sake than his!
Joe. Posted 5 January 2007 Posted 5 January 2007 There are no good refs anymore so it doesn't matter who we get. They all make too many mistakes. <_<
The Stig Posted 5 January 2007 Posted 5 January 2007 There are no good refs anymore so it doesn't matter who we get. They all make too many mistakes. <_< I disagree, its a very difficult job, most fans dont realise how difficult it is, refing standards have gone down, but there are a few good ones left

RowlattsFox Posted 5 January 2007 Posted 5 January 2007 i've always thought howard webb wa a decent ref. did he ref man utd v chelsea?
john_lcfc Posted 5 January 2007 Posted 5 January 2007 Like....? howard webb, mark clattenburg, mike dean, alan wiley and of course uriah rennie
lcfc_jme Posted 5 January 2007 Posted 5 January 2007 Oh great. How many penalties will we concede tomorrow? Not happy with this decision. Hopefully he can show why people think he's still a good ref though.
DB11 Posted 6 January 2007 Posted 6 January 2007 Just thought I'd point out that tomorrow's referee is Mark Clattenburg. For all those who don't know he was the one who gave Villa two extremely dodgy penalties against us in the Carling Cup. No-one is as bad as Mile Riler, god I despise him. But hopefully he'll think 2 wrongs make a right and give City the upperhand
Leonisco Posted 6 January 2007 Posted 6 January 2007 howard webb, mark clattenburg, mike dean, alan wiley and of course uriah rennie Jeff Winter was good aswell before he retired.
Foxhateram Posted 6 January 2007 Posted 6 January 2007 I disagree, its a very difficult job, most fans dont realise how difficult it is, refing standards have gone down, but there are a few good ones left i have refereed some adults and kids matchesand even that is hard, you are under such preasure to get it right and one bad decision and everyone is against, ok yer the crowds are small at the matches iv done but when you consider you make one mistake and you get 11 adults in my case some of which are older than me, its bloody scary and you just hope to god that no one disagrees with your decision. To keep up with the game when its end to end is hard work too, you end up doing more exersize than the players, so yer i think ref's should be given some slack, but on the other hand clattenburg had a crap game last time and should make up for it today
