uncle_connolly Posted 7 January 2007 Posted 7 January 2007 He did well and took his goal well. Although at the back of E2 it looked like he had blazed it over Me too I was sitting in E2 row AA for this one and I didnt know what all the celebrations were about for one second. Then I seen the guy running off like mad and the ball in the back of the net - then I went crazy What dreams are made of - Well done to Dan, nice one matey

Then I seen the guy running off like mad and the ball in the back of the net - then I went crazy What dreams are made of - Well done to Dan, nice one matey It wasn't just me! I jumped with my head on my hands and shouted OOOOOOH! Looked around and everyone was cheering. Wondered for a second if we'd been awarded a penalty then noticed everyone screaming and the players celebrating and so I did the decent thing and went mental. I was in E3, right at the top.
Cobbo Posted 7 January 2007 Posted 7 January 2007 Does Danny C get a free coke with every goal? Yes, yes he does.
The People's Hero Posted 7 January 2007 Posted 7 January 2007 Slightly back on topic (unlike me, I know)... but I wasn't convinced when he signed him. That said, it's last chance saloon time for Cadamarteri really. For someone who seemed to have such a bright future in the game, he's had a pathetic career. This really is his last chance, certainly at a club of this size and at this level. If he is genuinely free of some of the off the field troubles etc and he's wise enough to give this his absolute best shot, well, fair play to him. I'm unconvinced, but sometimes it doesn't hurt to have someone with something to prove.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 7 January 2007 Posted 7 January 2007 It's funny how one game can seem to make people forget he hardly pulled up any trees at League One level for Bradford over a long period of time. By all means everyone should give the bloke a chance but to suggest he's some sort of latter-day Championship version of Stan Collymore with obvious talent but off-the-field problems is to overrate him IMO. Not seeking to be negative about him, quite the opposite if anything, as I can see our fickle fans turning against him in a few week's time because he hasn't lived up to his potential at Everton. In all fairness if he had much chance of that then he wouldn't be here in the first place.

It's also probable that he simply does not possess the quality/dedication to succeed here long term. That said, if he's got even half a brain, he must realise he's not going to get many more chances at this level. I'd expect to see him giving everything therefore, at least in the short term in order that he can get a long term contract. I don't expect much from him but now that he's here, he has my full support and I hope he can make a success of it and save his own career.

Flynny Posted 7 January 2007 Posted 7 January 2007 His goal last night was his 23rd as an adult professional. He never really was THAT great at Everton, statistically. I don't expect much, so if he does decently I'll be more than happy.

The People's Hero Posted 7 January 2007 Posted 7 January 2007 The same support granted to Elvis Hammond? Elvis Hammond had my support until I realised he couldn't even do the basics. Falling over, offside, can't make proper contact with the ball, woeful passing. Just quick... and to be honest, when you're as bad as he is, you might as well be slow as well. It's not his fault he gets picked either though, is it?
