Basically many people had already made their minds up about Danny C before he'd put the shirt on.

Look at what he's done today.

You beat me to the thread! I was going to make one hoping people were embaressed about saying he was going to be crap after his 15 minute appearence against Sunderland. He made all the difference today, in my opnion should have started on the right anyway but it doesn't matter now.

He is a legend after today!

Oh come on it's one game I dont think you'll see to many people eating their words just yet. By that logic Mark De Vries is a Leicester Legend.

:dunno: What do you mean by that.?

You're right, it doesn't make sense - what I meant what people were judging him on his past i.e. not many goals scored, drug taking without actually waiting to see how he turned out.

He's no legend yet.

But he's gone a little way to show he wants to concentrate on his football.

one swallow doesn't make a summer

June, July and August do though.

Just think, he could of been playing for Grays in the conference today. Im told he was about to sign but then you lot signed him.

Hopefully he'll score few more goals now.

Well said Bert.

He's already made a bigger impact in this one match than a lot of people predicted he would make in his entire spell at Leicester.

Well done Danny C. Also, credit to Kelly for throwing him on - his decision was vindicated today at least.

He's certainly paid his way for the next five months.

Don't know how much we'll pocket for the replay but I'm sure it'll cover his wages and lets hope there's more to come.

I am still sceptical but that's nothing new!

Very wise post bertie. Alot players develop late in their careers, and he has shown glimpses of geniune Premiership talent even if it was a long time ago.

Even if he does turn out to be amazing I still wont go back on what I said (not that I can remember what I did say) I can only go on his previous record, as I've said before I'm not on the training pitch day after day I don't know how good he looked, I can only go by his past record which is, in general unimpressive.

Oh Danny boy, the goals, the goals your scoring

From near or far, and down the left hand side

The draught has gone, and all your shots are flying.

'Tis you, 'tis you, must score and we must cheer.

But come ye back when we need some defending.

Or when the goalie's rushed and you must clear

'Tis we'll be here in Kop end and in D1

Oh Danny boy, oh Danny boy, we love you so.

:D

Superb.

Although somehow I don't think it'll quite take off...

Yeah he seems to have a fair amount of pace and a good finish. Who would you play up front with him though? :dunno:

He was slow when running against defenders, obviously slow.

When he starts chipping in performances in the Championship week in week out I'll hold my hands up and say he was a good signing (and I hope he does) - but until that moment my jury is out.

Did you see the reply of his shot on match of the day? Lee Dixon reckoned it was lucky, called it a 'swinger'. He was probably right. I don't think a goal should make us consider starting him up front immediately any more than we should be thinking about putting Kisnorbo up there.

Lee Dixon is an expert.

Would Hume, Fryatt, Hammond or O'Grady have "swung" it like that?

I think they would have blasted it as hard as possible and hoped for the best.

I agree, does an impressive substitute appearance warrant a starting place for the next game?

Surely not considering all our strikers are finding the net so frequently.

Mr Sarcastic UK :P

However I agree with your sarcasm, also I hate it when people take the easy route and say I think he's crap but I hope he proves me wrong blaaah.

Excuse me?? Are you missing something here.

Fryatt hasn't scored since sunderland away.

Hume hasn't scored for a while.

O'Grady well he rarely scores and I dont rate him at all.
