RowlattsFox Posted 9 January 2007 Posted 9 January 2007 anyone watching england getting battered yet again. this is getting embarrassing. anderson - 4 overs 1-64. england 5-2 in 2nd over.
RowlattsFox Posted 9 January 2007 Author Posted 9 January 2007 australia look unstoppable at the moment. gilchrist, hayden, ponting, hussey, clarke, symonds and white, that top order is great in any form of cricket but in twenty20 that is immense power. i would have been tempted to open with KP and flintoff and have a go right from start like the aussies do.
Milky Posted 9 January 2007 Posted 9 January 2007 we have too many touch players for twenty20. Only freddie and KP are big hitters.
Flynny Posted 9 January 2007 Posted 9 January 2007 We're suffering because we're playing too much of the test team in ODI's. Playing the test team in a twenty20 match is even sillier. Dalrymple is in the right place and Nixon was a good call-up. Pietersen and Flintoff are of course fine. Panesar is a fantastic bowler but needs a touch more work on his batting before he consolidates an ODI place. What Anderson is doing in there I have no idea.
RowlattsFox Posted 9 January 2007 Author Posted 9 January 2007 i actually thought anderson was a decent bowler when he first came into side and im confident he will be good. maybe hes not completely fit and definately short of practice after his injury lay off. he sholdnt play on this tour again because his confidence is getting lower and lower.

He's certainly a good bowler, he gets massive swing on it. He needs to go back to his county side, work hard and start taking wickets before we have him back. He's hardly played any country cricket at all he was shoved in the team so quickly, and even if he's not playing he tends to be in the squad, meaning no county cricket and no international cricket either, at times.
Joe. Posted 9 January 2007 Posted 9 January 2007 Oh dear, battered..... again. This is getting silly now. They are really making our team look like a complete bunch of losers. Which they are...

So on that basis you wouldn't give Glenn McGrath a place in our ODI team, because his batting is worse than Montys. Monty is a good wicket taking option in ODI's, also people seem to harp on about him not batting but can anyone else remember him slogging the Sri Lankans around the park? 26no including a couple of slog sweeps for 6 off Murali
Simi Posted 9 January 2007 Posted 9 January 2007 With hitters like Symonds and Gilchrist it was always going to be hard !
Micky Ruddle Posted 10 June 2007 Posted 10 June 2007 Anyone up for Twenty20 sweepstakes? If so: Warwickshire - Oriental
