Mort Posted 10 January 2007 Posted 10 January 2007 what are the chances of chris coleman being sacked between now and the summer because i like him as a manger. i always think hes going to be the next prem manager to be sacked but it never happens. Cant see it, sadly Fulham's relatively good season so far is mostly down to him, might as well ask if Martin's going to get the boot at Villa... Pardew would have been an excellent choice but Charlton snapped him up very quickly, and in the end there really isnt much choice out there, RK is out of his depth, Dowie would be an improvment, but i'm tending more and more to the view that unless things look tricky (ie where we are now in the table) after the next few games we can wait to properly overhaul the managment and coaching staff in the summer... where we'll have far greater freedom and not have to compromise in such a limited enviroment. We should learn from the FA, they should have waited till after the World Cup to apiont a new England Manager, we should (baring a sustained poor run - which will be clear over the next three or four league games) wait till the summer to overhaul (coz thats whats needed IMHO) our managment and coaching staff.
amitoo Posted 11 January 2007 Posted 11 January 2007 I think mike newell would come to leicester city this time round if he was offered the job, because if MM is in control then he has got money to spend and he has got chance to keep his best players. He would leave luton because he doesn't have a firm hold on the players that are good as they always leave in the transfer window, e.g howard, vine and that other two that left to sunderland and leeds i think it was. Newell has got a good sense in buying the right players at the right time i think, and he has got into trouble as well at luton with his remarks about the linesmen/women and the agents remark. i'd like to see him at leicester city.
Geo V Posted 11 January 2007 Posted 11 January 2007 I wouldnt bother with Newell. He turned us down once and hasnt done so well at luton since although in his defence, he has had to keep selling his best players and this window seems no different. Keegan is a pipe dream but it is the type of scene he likes (non Premier side who may have some cash to spend). I always thought Keegan would be great playing a fantasy football game or Championship Manager or something as he loves to deal and get players in and punt loads out but then runs out of ideas at the top level. The other thing about Keegan being out of the game so long and we never seem to see him at grounds as a guest or whatever is how behind the times is he and would he return to think that Darren Anderton and Rob Lee are still great players??! John Barnes running down the wing and Ian Rush up front anyone??! Glenn Hoddle is a weird manager. He obviously was a great player and has done well in management at times. Yes, he failed at Wolves but that doesnt mean he is a shite manager. I`d take him if we needed a new manager ahead of the likes of Dowie, Worthington (unless its Frank!) and Newell any day.

Newell's turned us down twice. He flicked us the bird when Adams left aswell. Cheeky bastard.
Number 6 Posted 11 January 2007 Posted 11 January 2007 i'm not a massive kelly fan, am a bit worried as to how the money will be spent by him, but i think maybe he deserves a chance at this, though the opportunity cannot be wasted. i would rather stick with kelly then have dowie, don't rate him at all. as far as any other available managers out tere i think we are gonna be forced to stick at the moment no matter what we wish to do.
THEBIGJOHNSTEADER; Posted 11 January 2007 Posted 11 January 2007 Hoddle and Waddle combo...think how good the half time entertainment would be...
Geo V Posted 11 January 2007 Posted 11 January 2007 Newell's turned us down twice. He flicked us the bird when Adams left aswell. Cheeky bastard. F him indeed! I wouldnt want a manager with a face that long to be fair as the next thing is he`ll join a circus in the States and make a fortune next to the bearded lady and woman with 3 tats. I remember us being linked to another crazy dude, Ian Holloway. I know he is outspoken but I have always liked his honesty and his sense of fun. He is doing a good job at Plymouth on limited resources and did a great job at QPR before the fun started with the chairman. Would anyone want Holloway incharge???

You should have been on here this time last year when we were linked with Holloway. The place was up in arms, didn't want him anywhere near the place. He's now proving to be fairly shrewd at Plymouth, far better than Kelly. I admit, I didn't want him either.

He is different and down to earth but there is something loyal about the bloke and honest maybe? I saw a program on Sky about him (actually I think it was a report on Soccer Saturday) and he looked organised and commanded the respect of his players. Also, he seemed to be one of them blokes who knew everyone within the club on first name terms and would be friendly with evrybody, even the local press. If you get things to that level you are on a winner IMO. at him slagging everyone off though as he seems to get away with it scotfree! Even FIFA!!
