Foxed Posted 5 February 2007 Posted 5 February 2007 Some advice needed please! I've been offered a top notch job doing interesting stuff for way more money than I'm on now. The down side is that it's about 1 hour 20 mins away as opposed to the 20 mins it takes me at the moment. Anyone travelling long distances to get to work got any advice? 60 miles mainly on the M40 it'll be
blue blood Posted 5 February 2007 Posted 5 February 2007 80 mile round trip, if the job is worth it then go 4 it. my best advice - invest in a car that is comfy on the motorway, i had a fiesta and i used to get real tired (drained) driving it, got a civic now and its quite fun doing the driving.
stez Posted 5 February 2007 Posted 5 February 2007 i travel 250 yards to work. my advice? move nearer to you better paid job

Matt Posted 5 February 2007 Posted 5 February 2007 use a bike I used to...In my first week of working there, Then I passed my driving test. Wils Posted 5 February 2007 Posted 5 February 2007 Take the job mate,if its better paid just go for it. The company will pay your travel expenses im guessing? Surely be werth it the end
Foxed Posted 5 February 2007 Author Posted 5 February 2007 Nope no travel expenses and no working from home. But potential car share with someone also in the same boat. I can't move for a while as I used up all my savings buying my current place less than a year ago. Is an hour and 20 too far? Will it cost me shed loads in petrol? Oh yeah, and I'd need to buy a new car-probably a diesel
Joe. Posted 5 February 2007 Posted 5 February 2007 If it's a more satisfying job than the one you already have why not go for it? New scene, challenges etc...
