Flynny Posted 7 April 2007 Posted 7 April 2007 Can you explain that in your usual crystal clear way I thought you could only be banned now after 10 bookings - surely he's not reached 10, he's hardly played that many games. He must have done, because he's banned. EDIT: He does indeed have 10 (probably 11 now). - Link
davieG Posted 7 April 2007 Posted 7 April 2007 He must have done, because he's banned. EDIT: He does indeed have 10 (probably 11 now). - Link That's shocking at nearly one every other game.
Flynny Posted 7 April 2007 Posted 7 April 2007 That's shocking at nearly one every other game. Not the way he plays, really. Suprised he hasn't been sent off more.
Joe. Posted 7 April 2007 Posted 7 April 2007 You're surprised if Tiatto doesn't ever get booked to be honest...
Bryn Posted 7 April 2007 Posted 7 April 2007 I sincerely hope he does not start Fryatt. Keep him fit ffs, or his career is going to go down the shitter again. Henderson Maybury Nils - I mean wtf, has he been dropped or is he injured? McAuley, unless he's not fit, in which case I'm willing to give Kenton the benefit of the doubt Kisnorbo Newton/Yeates Porter Johnson Jarrett Hume Hammond

McAuley, unless he's not fit, in which case I'm willing to give Kenton the benefit of the doubt Kisnorbo Newton/Yeates Porter Johnson Jarrett Hume Hammond I agree with the bit in bold. No need to rush him back. Give him slightly more time on the pitch each game. 35 minutes against Derby, give him 45 at Plymouth coming off the bench, maybe even less time if the team's doing alright without him. I'd be happy to see him get another 35 and ease him back into things. A fit Fryatt next season is more important than rushing him back this season.
moseeds Posted 7 April 2007 Posted 7 April 2007 You're right about 4-3-3. Kelly would probably go to his grave sooner than admit he hasn't got the personel for an effective 4-4-2 and never lines up those who'd get him closest. You're also right about Hume. But, while I'm more than happy to have King/Porter behind the front two who do you choose on the right of a 4-4-2 with Newton injured? I just think we forever have to compromise and that, plus the left-back situation, is a good part of what's spoiling the flow of our side, resulting on all the desperate high balls which are seen as the only option because we have so litle movement and penetration from too much of our midfield - including Porter yesterday becaue of his stifling instructions. Yep considering Hughes cannot play effectively at all on the right wing, nobody stands out in an obvious way and without resorting to using Youth players then personally I would place either Hume or Hammond on the right wing and drop Stearman from the right for Maybury. Maybury doesn't come forward too often, both Hume and Hammond are used to trying to win the ball for themselves (considering they are strikers the service to them has been poor all season) and it might just quicken up our pretty lethargic attacks. Hume plays more of an attacking midfield/forward role than a traditional striking role anyway so he might fit in much easier. He'd actually add some "bite" to the middle row as well (tiatto is injured). Being at the stage in the season we are now would not be a bad time to experiment. Saying all that I have a feeling Yeates will be the one starting on the right, Jarret and Hughes in the middle and Porter on the left. The rest of the team will be unchanged.
Ultra Posted 8 April 2007 Posted 8 April 2007 NO Hughes or Stearman! Team should be: Henderson Kenton/Maybury McAuley/Kenton Kisnorbo Johansson Newton/Yeates Wesolowski Jarrett Porter Hume Fryatt If Matty can't last the 90 mins, bring on the Horse. He should be fresh enough after a THREE-week break..
Fez of Mahrez Posted 8 April 2007 Posted 8 April 2007 And where pray tell is Wesolowski suddenly going to find match fitness from?
lookwhaticando Posted 8 April 2007 Posted 8 April 2007 And where pray tell is Wesolowski suddenly going to find match fitness from? Rob Kelly's magic bag of random team selections & fitness ratings. It worked for Williams when he wasn't fit... Stearman when he'd play no games for many weeks... and Maybury... and Johnson... and Tiatto... and Fryatt and Wesoloswki... and essentially most of the squad at some point or other has been played without being match fit... and it's allllllll down to Rob.

My impression is the back four and midfield will remain the same, with Fryatt starting.
Simi Posted 8 April 2007 Posted 8 April 2007 Henderson Maybury Kenton (McAuley if fit) Kisnorbo Nils Newton Jarret Johnson (Weso not fit at all) Porter Hume Hammond (Fryatt not ready to start yet)
