MBK Posted 7 April 2007 Posted 7 April 2007 Logan McAuley Kisnorbo Nisse Newton Hughes Jarrett Tiatto Porter Fryatt Hume Subs: Henderson, Weso, Hammond, Maybury, Yeates
Geo V Posted 7 April 2007 Posted 7 April 2007 If McAuley is fit which may be unlikely, I`s swap him for Kenton, Nissa for Maybury and Fryatt for Elvis.
STUHILL Posted 7 April 2007 Posted 7 April 2007 Henderson Stearman Kisnorbo Mcauley Nils Newton Tiatto Jarrett Porter Hume Fryatt
Flynny Posted 7 April 2007 Posted 7 April 2007 The best possible team Kelly's likely to play is: ------------------Henderson------------------ Maybury - McAuley - Kisnorbo - Johansson Newton ---- Hughes ----- Jarrett ---- Porter ----------- Hume ------- Hammond---------- Tiatto is banned, and Fryatt should get the entire 2nd half for Hammond, but shouldn't start a game just yet. He isn't going to change formation or play kids.

Hughes has to start showing more though because i'm starting to doubt his worth in the squad let alone team! But a good and realistic line-up! I will second that .

I think (hope) Hughes will improve with a sustained run in central midfield. He has more ability than most of our CM players, he's gotta come good eventually. Like I said yesterday, had he given the same performance as he did yesterday except in the centre, not while pretending to be a winger, I'd have been relatively pleased with him. He's better than Johnson, at any rate.

Fryatt has had plenty of time to recover now and he needs a good 60 minutes. Best thing for him is to start the game and sub him off around middle of 2nd half. It makes less sense to play him another 30 as a sub and then play him for 90 min in the next match, the shock to system would be greater. Besides Hammond (sub) is an effective impact player somehow. If Tiatto is banned he deserves a fine.

Possibly. I still think an entire 45 minutes and then starting the next game and playing 70 or so would suit him better than 60 right now. Up to Kelly, I guess.

Dames Posted 7 April 2007 Posted 7 April 2007 . I love peoples team selections. We all know its going to be Henderson Stearman Kenton Kisnorbo Maybury Hughes Johnson Jarret Porter Horsefield Hume
Thracian Posted 7 April 2007 Posted 7 April 2007 Doubtless most fans will want Fryatt straight in the starting line up but if I were Kelly I'd still b careful. I remember when Williams returned from injury, played a long match, then another one soon after and was injured again. Fryatt might well feel some reaction to Saturday's half-hour comeback and Kelly would be advised to use him off the bench again, this time for 40 minutes or so. It's simply not worth having another unnecesary setback. So: Henderson; Maybury Stearman, Kisnorbo, Nils; King, Hughes, Tiatto; Hammond, Hume, Porter. And if I were Kelly I'd have Tiatto and Porter share the set pieces. That will mean far more variety than was apparent Saturday and will have maintain the confidence and involvement of Porter who was muscled out of such action by Tiatto yesterday and for no good reason. Yes I know Tiatto bends a dangerous left-footed free kick but he's a one trick pony in that way and variety is important.
moseeds Posted 7 April 2007 Posted 7 April 2007 He aint gonna play 4-3-3 Thracian...probably ever....what about putting porter/king/etc behind the front 2 to push Hume higher up the field? In my opinion Hume spends far too much time hovering just over the half way line or out on the touchline.
C-man Posted 7 April 2007 Posted 7 April 2007 I just hope he puts out an team that wants to attack. I don't want a 500 mile round trip to see us not score. Henderson Stearman - Kisnorbo - McAuley - JohanssonNewton - Jarrett - Johnson - PorterFryatt - Hume
lookwhaticando Posted 7 April 2007 Posted 7 April 2007 Henderson Maybury, Stearman, Kisnorbo, Nissa Newton, Hughes, Jarrett, Porter Hume, Hammond ----- Subs: Logan, Kenton, Fryatt (to come on at half time for Hammond), Yeates, Wesolowski. That's an optimistic number of changes considering we didn't lose to Derby... so minimal-change it shall be.

In my opinion Hume spends far too much time hovering just over the half way line or out on the touchline. You're right about 4-3-3. Kelly would probably go to his grave sooner than admit he hasn't got the personel for an effective 4-4-2 and never lines up those who'd get him closest. You're also right about Hume. But, while I'm more than happy to have King/Porter behind the front two who do you choose on the right of a 4-4-2 with Newton injured? I just think we forever have to compromise and that, plus the left-back situation, is a good part of what's spoiling the flow of our side, resulting on all the desperate high balls which are seen as the only option because we have so litle movement and penetration from too much of our midfield - including Porter yesterday becaue of his stifling instructions.

The number of times he gets booked for silly things like disent is amazing. I'd rather see him express his anger with a reckless challenge that receives a booking than by swearing at the ref.

davieG Posted 7 April 2007 Posted 7 April 2007 TIATTO IS BANNED Can you explain that in your usual crystal clear way I thought you could only be banned now after 10 bookings - surely he's not reached 10, he's hardly played that many games.
