davieG Posted 7 April 2007 Posted 7 April 2007 Bangladesh just about to beat SA is that good or bad for England?
Joe. Posted 7 April 2007 Posted 7 April 2007 Bangladesh just about to beat SA is that good or bad for England? What a result for Bangladesh! Can't be bad really. We should still beat Bangladesh
Flynny Posted 7 April 2007 Posted 7 April 2007 Probably good. It's probably just a flukey result for Bangladesh, whereas South Africa have been consistantly slightly poor for much of the tournament. Possibly bad. There's an arguement something like: 'South Africa are a better team than us and now Bangladesh are hitting form, and we have to play them both!' Hard to judge.
marko Posted 7 April 2007 Posted 7 April 2007 Definately a good result for us, it means we have a decent chance to knick the 4th spot.

You have a way with words that enables one to see things in a clear and uncomplicated way.
Brainy Posted 7 April 2007 Posted 7 April 2007 Brilliant stuff from Bangladesh - lets just hope England don't underestimate them.
Bert Posted 7 April 2007 Posted 7 April 2007 Well done the Tigers. They were offered £1000 each if they won just a group game, so imagine what they'll get for this.
Joe. Posted 7 April 2007 Posted 7 April 2007 Wow. So now they've beaten India and South Africa! That can't be fluke twice... Well done Bangladesh
Bert Posted 7 April 2007 Posted 7 April 2007 It just shows with a bit of belief and team spirit good things can be achieved.
Joe. Posted 7 April 2007 Posted 7 April 2007 So turning out Bangladesh in the sweepstake wasn't so bad after all!!
Flynny Posted 7 April 2007 Posted 7 April 2007 You have a way with words that enables one to see things in a clear and uncomplicated way. Wow... uhhh, cheers. I think this means we're less reliant on beating Australia tomorrow, so long as we beat EVERYONE else, right? Still a tall order, but less so.
Bert Posted 7 April 2007 Posted 7 April 2007 We're not going to qualify for the semi's. We're just not good enough, with Michael Vaughan still playing (His one day career has never took off imo) , Fred out of form with the bat as well as Joyce, Strauss a possible replacement but will be LMP, we'd be relying to much on KP and PC. We're ranked 7th best one day team for a reason. Our opening bowlers are too inconsistent as well. If we do qualify, I'll gladly eat my words.

Nuts and Political Correctness - not a good combination for winning at cricket.

Simi Posted 8 April 2007 Posted 8 April 2007 Good result for us. But we have the Aussies today who I don't see us beating. After all McGrath said Aus are going to win the World Cup so we may aswell stop now.

One reason why we're ranked 7th is that we have not played nearly enough ODIs. You look at Sri Lanka or New Zealand and they play almost 50 a year. England play 20 max. We're not very experienced, and that's there reason we'll never win a world cup.
Geo V Posted 8 April 2007 Posted 8 April 2007 Fantastic result which means if we lose today against teh Aussies we still have the chance of qualifying.
