Flexx Posted 13 April 2007 Posted 13 April 2007 Anyone else feeling really optimistic about Worthington in charge? It's just refreshing knowing we have a guy in charge who knows what he's talking about. He's experienced, he got Norwich promoted and nearly saved them from relegation, and he's out there to prove a point. COME ON LEICESTER

THEBIGJOHNSTEADER; Posted 13 April 2007 Posted 13 April 2007 I am very apprehensive, I don't know what to expect tomorrow, I guess we'll know at 5pm by which time I'll be drunk anyway, so it's a win win situation on a personal level

Thracian Posted 13 April 2007 Posted 13 April 2007 I'm skeptical but first impressions have been good and he's certainly talked the talk. Let's hope the team he names matches the preamble. Cos there's no point him talking about passing if he picks players who can't pass or, more important pass AND move. There is not a single team in the top two divisions with less movement than Leicester City. Sometimes it is like watching raw novices. And if Worthington can get some running off the ball as well that would qualify him for a lucrative season in pantomime - as the Genie in Aladdin.
davieG Posted 13 April 2007 Posted 13 April 2007 I seem to recall people feeling the same about Levein and Kelly when they first started, they both seemed to have good intentions and gave the impression that they could walk the walk but they both disappointed in the end. I'll reserve judgement and my optimism is no greater or less than it was last week, after all it's the same bunch of numb nuts so unless NW can get more out of them I see no reason to change my view.
Geo V Posted 14 April 2007 Posted 14 April 2007 I feel sorry Wortho as he is on a hiding to nothing. I think he`ll get the few points needed for us to stay up but it will be more by luck than judgement. Im not optimistic about this season at all but our dicing with relegation has done nothing more than to make my end of season more interesting . Nothings changed. We`ll stay up (just) and then it will be time to really be optimistic as we see who is announced manager and what players we bring in and sell. It will be the first time in quite a few years that we shall all be looking forward to signings with significant transfer fees attached to the players concerned. These are exciting times!
kylecoare Posted 14 April 2007 Posted 14 April 2007 Just give the guy a chance, everyones slagging off the decision without even seeing the bloke in charge of a leicester game. Another thing, out of our last 5 managers how many of them had premier league experience or even top championship experience? not even MON had this in his favour! I dont really want worthington but hes what weve got, and hes a lot more experienced than someone like Ince, who may be a good manager in the future but it seems a bit early for him to be jumping into a championship side with premiership ambitions.
Guest Posted 14 April 2007 Posted 14 April 2007 I'm not making any comments until I've seen what the bloke is capable of here. He couldn't cut the mustard at Narch (do you see it?), but we shouldn't bank on him failing here (and that one?). I'm on fire.
Fox63 Posted 14 April 2007 Posted 14 April 2007 If anybody can get 3 points from Norwich it should be Worthington. I can appreciate that there are a number of new players at Norwich but he should be able to exploit the weakness of the players he knows....or is that to simple? However, I reserve judgement on whether he is the right man for the job. Milan was right to sack Kelly but his timing was wrong....it should have been done after the QPR game imho.

tsmiggy Posted 14 April 2007 Posted 14 April 2007 I have no idea whatsoever what to expect.Hopefully it cannot be any worse than what we have been experiencing.I will reserve judgement,it does seem unfair to have a go at Worthington, before his team have even kicked a ball.
Guest Gist Posted 14 April 2007 Posted 14 April 2007 I'm pleased to be going down the Walkers today knowing Kelly won't be there, but I'll wait and see on NW until after the game.

Newcastle_Fox Posted 14 April 2007 Posted 14 April 2007 Looking forard to going down to the Walkers shortly with renewed optimism that we can rip Norwich to pieces and secure of our Championship status. The sun is shining, hopefully everyone will be in a good mood and in good voice. Lets give the new boss a chance and the players lots of encouragement and lets do the business! Nigel Wortho's
Bryn Posted 14 April 2007 Posted 14 April 2007 One thing that we can at least be confident about- NW probably stands as good a chance of stopping Darren Huckerby as any manager.
Leonisco Posted 14 April 2007 Posted 14 April 2007 I'm optimistic about today. The players should be more up for this one, what with the new manager coming in and the fact we still have work to do to avoid the relegation scrap, and Norwich aren't really playing for anything. I'm predicting a 2-0 win in the sunshine.
