chapman Posted 1 February 2005 Author Posted 1 February 2005 i heard of a stephen hughes who used to play for arsenal
Guest Daniel Posted 1 February 2005 Posted 1 February 2005 A positive step and excellent signing in my eyes. The fact he didn't figure at Rangers doesn't mean Jack Diddly as Rangers have a policy of only playing crap over paid overseas players. And Barry Ferguson.Very highly rated by rainer Bonhoff the Scotland under 21 coach and at the time it was suprising to see Berti Vogts and Tommy Burns didn't rate him good enough for the full team. We now know that probably means he is a star as those 2 couldn't pick a winner in a 1 horse race <_< . 61443

chapman Posted 1 February 2005 Author Posted 1 February 2005 but what will happen if stephen hughes doesnt get in the first team it would have been a waste of money
Muz Posted 1 February 2005 Posted 1 February 2005 but what will happen if stephen hughes doesnt get in the first team it would have been a waste of money 61592 CL is not going to spend money on someone thats going to warm the bench. He obviously see's him as a part of the new Leicester City And that excites me B)

Oli Posted 1 February 2005 Posted 1 February 2005 Stop spamming. People will answer in good time. But if you keep writing in text talk no one will answer. Scotlands national team, has some quite decent individuals. But the last few years have had a shit manager. Hughes is a decent player, and I would imagine him as being one of our first team players for along time. So stop spamming, this is not a chat room, where you put is anyone going to answer me. This is a message board. Some people might have better things to do than read text talk, such as work.
Steven Posted 1 February 2005 Posted 1 February 2005 **** me!i was just thinkin to myself "i really enjoy that foxes forum but i never have anything to say cos i dont know enough about them" well.... uve picked up a quality signing there! im gobsmacked, and especially for 100k! seriously, hes a quality player. he does like to attack and be positive but altho he doesnt look it, being a skinny wee blonde lad, hes a tackler too. dam u levein, we could have had him! absolute bargain

You've already stated you haven't heard of him before, and so don't know how good a player he is or anything.
SilverFox Posted 1 February 2005 Posted 1 February 2005 but he was never hardely in the rangers first team that tells u sum thing 61580 Hes had 16 starts this season, including a champions league start...I'd say thats pretty good for a 'fringe' player.
MON Posted 1 February 2005 Posted 1 February 2005 Well done To Craig Levein. He seems a shrewd manager. The scottish revolution is under way.
Teeno Posted 1 February 2005 Posted 1 February 2005 i have never heard of him before 61577 You obviously aint a big football follower then. 61578 Silly comment.
davieG Posted 1 February 2005 Posted 1 February 2005 Well even if all he does is keep Williams playing to peak performance by breathing down his neck it will be money well spent.
davieG Posted 1 February 2005 Posted 1 February 2005 Levein hails Hughes signing Leicester manager Craig Levein still cannot believe his luck after securing the signature of Rangers midfielder Stephen Hughes. The 22-year-old has joined the Foxes on a three-and-a-half-year contract for an initial fee of £100,000, rising to £200,000 after appearance and performance add-ons. Levein said: "I didn't think it was possible to get Stephen so I hadn't even tried until a chance conversation with an agent about another player. "So it was something which happened at the last minute but I think we've managed to get one of the most talented players in Scotland for an absolute steal." Hughes said: "It was already proving difficult for me to break into the first-team at Rangers and then the club signed Barry Ferguson which would have made it even more difficult for me. "I thought I was staying at Rangers though until this happened at the last minute and I think it's a great move and a great opportunity for me."

Steven Posted 1 February 2005 Posted 1 February 2005 "It was something which happened at the last minute but we've managed to get one of the most talented players in Scotland for an absolute steal." CL seems happy.
BartonFox Posted 1 February 2005 Posted 1 February 2005 I know a Hun ST holder and he is gutted to have lost him. His description was he was a real 100%er who likes to pass the ball around. He did temper it by saying he sometimes holds on to the ball too much but that will get coached/knocked out of him in a matter of weeks.
