Bedford Fox Posted 1 February 2005 Posted 1 February 2005 Gang Targets Soccer Hardman's Home Soccer star Dennis Wise's sister and her children were left cowering in terror when burglars struck as she was house-sitting at his £2million mansion. Kim Wise, 39, locked herself and her two young children in a bedroom and called 999 after realising there were intruders in the house. The burglars smashed up furniture before fleeing with car keys, a plasma TV screen and a mobile phone. When police arrived about five minutes later, the TV screen was found on the driveway. Detectives are now studying footage from CCTV cameras that captured the incident at the house near the A40 in Denham, Buckinghamshire. Millwall player-manager Wise, 38, who was away in Dubai at the time of the ordeal a week ago, told the Daily Mirror: "It was really scary. I really feel for Kim. "She was terrified. The poor girl was just sitting there locked inside the room. "She's understandably very upset about it. Very shaken." A spokeswoman for former Chelsea star Wise said: "He's incredibly worried about his family and really upset that Kim had gone through that. "He just happy that everyone is safe and he has stepped up security at his house. "It is now completely secure and police are studying CCTV footage because they've been caught on camera." Wise's sister made the horrifying discovery that she and her children were not alone in the house when she was woken at 5am by her one-year-old son Daniel's crying. She went out to check on him and realised that the security sensor lights were on outside, and the patio doors were wide open. She ran to grab Daniel and her daughter Emma, nine, and heard the footsteps of people running around downstairs before the house's alarms started going off and she hid. It is thought the burglars may have targeted the house knowing that Wise, who has lived there for almost three years with his wife, Claire, and their two children, was away because Millwall did not have a weekend match. He asked his sister to house-sit after his rented home was burgled three years ago. The area around his luxury home has seen a string of high-profile burglaries. Ozzy Osbourne and his wife, Sharon, had more than £2million worth of jewellery stolen from their mansion in Chalfont St Peter last year after the rocker disturbed one of the raiders and grappled with him before he escaped. And former Blind Date presenter Cilla Black lost jewels worth £1million from her home in Denham when a knife was held to the throat of her 22-year-old son, Jack. Thames Valley Police said they were not linking the Wise case to any other burglary. They believe that two men entered the house through the conservatory at the back and fled the same way. Pc Steven Westbrook, who is investigating the incident, said: "I am keen to hear from anyone who may have noticed two men hanging around the Denham area a few days before the burglary in the early hours of Tuesday morning."

BartonFox Posted 1 February 2005 Posted 1 February 2005 While Dennis Wise is an odious little **** I don't think people should score cheap digs or get a kick out of that kind of ordeal. Having had my house ransacked before by intruders it is no laughing matter and the fact there were kids involved in this makes it worse.
