Alexikokopops Posted 5 February 2005 Posted 5 February 2005 How did Hughes do today, all those who made it to the match? I've only been able to listen to the last 10 minutes, and it sounds like he's done good.
Guest Daniel Posted 5 February 2005 Posted 5 February 2005 Very good, look very positive going forward. Could be a great signing if he keeps that up every game.
MON Posted 5 February 2005 Posted 5 February 2005 He did alright. Nothing brilliant. Looks a bit lightweight though. Should be given a full game.
Mark Posted 5 February 2005 Posted 5 February 2005 Looks very very good. But so did Matt Jones on his debut He has flair and can actually pass a ball, we need this so badly.

Matt Jones played brilliant on his debut, but in following 10 or so games before he got injured he actually played very badly.

He has 3/4. Junior Lewis looked good in the first 3/4 games he played for us. The stand out one being Leicester versus Liverpool. He was being hailed the "new Lennon". People were saying "what a shrewd signing by Taylor"

He had only got back from injury if you remember. He wasn't match fit. And it was a poor team.
Oli Posted 5 February 2005 Posted 5 February 2005 MON dont stop moaning. For christ sake MON shut up and get on with it.
City Fan Posted 5 February 2005 Posted 5 February 2005 MON's view on Stephen Hughes: He did alright. Nothing brilliant. Whats the point of posting on an LCFC forum, when you don't know the first thing about Leicester City or football in general. Every time I read your posts, I wish that I hadn't wasted a few seconds of my life reading the trash you come out with.....
Anish Posted 5 February 2005 Posted 5 February 2005 Going back to the original point, I thought Hughes did really well when he came on. He looks comfortable on the ball, passed well and didn't give the ball away cheaply like practically everybody else, and his off-the-ball movement was good. I think he's going to take Williams's place in the starting line up if he continues playing like that.

Hughes passed very well, and is not afraid to get stuck in. I was very impressed with what I saw of him - he must surely start the next game because he was awesome in the little time he was on.

We could see that Hughes is an attack minded player and one of our 2 central midfielders has to hold back and keep disciplined. For all of Joey's weaknesses, he is more defence minded and does get stuck in in the challenges. Besides, on the last couple of performances, I think Gudjonsson deserves his place in the team.
TrickyTrev Posted 5 February 2005 Posted 5 February 2005 Firstly stop ganging up on MON because you don't like him. Junior Lewis was MOTM in his first couple of home games, I know it is hard to believe but I remember thinking he is just the fencive midfielder we need. He then went on to be shit. Hughes looks very good though, if slightly lightweight.

However when I had seen him play until the end of the season and was then asked whether I would to sponsor him for the following season, I politely declined. <_<
Wellman Posted 5 February 2005 Posted 5 February 2005 Hughes looked alright I thought. Has got a bit of flair and good passing, exactly waht we need, so it's bye bye Nalis I reckon
